Mary Trump, Donald Trump's niece and author of the memoir “Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man,” recently bought a 2,250-square-foot three-bedroom unit at the Renzo Piano-designed condominium building at 565 Broome Street for $7 million, as the Wall Street Journal reports. The 2020 book, which delves into the Trump family's background, has sold more than a million copies.

Leasing officially kicked off this week at the second tallest building in Queens, a 71-story rental in Long Island City. Located at 27-29 Queens Plaza North, the building, dubbed Sven, has 958 apartments, with a mix of studios to three-bedroom units priced from $2,950/month. Originally expected to become the borough's tallest building when plans were announced, the tower was surpassed by the Skyline Tower in 2019. Not only do the rentals come with stunning skyline views, but the building is the first in New York City to offer "Spireworks," an app that lets users change the colors of lights at iconic city skyscrapers.

270 affordable apartments available at a luxury Long Island City tower on the East River

Waterfront luxury living in New York City doesn’t have to be out of reach. Located on the East River in Hunter’s Point South, Gotham Point is a mixed-use complex with over 1,100 apartments, 75 percent of which are priced below the market rate. Applications are now being accepted for 270 rent-stabilized apartments at the Long Island City development’s South tower. The building is open to New Yorkers with a wide range of household income levels, between 30 percent and 165 percent of the area median income (AMI), or between $15,806 and $244,200 annually. That means a single person who earns between $15,806 and $25,090 annually would pay $738/month for a studio and a four-person household with an income range of between $126,686 and $196,845 would pay $3,580/month for a three-bedroom.

Brooklyn’s tallest tower tops out at 1,066 feet, becomes borough’s first supertall

The tallest tower in Brooklyn officially topped out this week. Located at 9 DeKalb Avenue, newly christened The Brooklyn Tower reached its summit of 1,066 feet, the first and only supertall building (300 meters in height or taller) to rise in the borough. Developed by JDS Development Group and designed by SHoP Architects, the mixed-use tower incorporates the landmarked Dime Savings Bank of Brooklyn into both the skyscraper's design and use; the iconic bank building will hold new retail space and an entry to the residential tower through its colonnade. With occupancy expected next year, the 93-story Brooklyn Tower offers 550 residences, with 150 condos for sale and 400 rentals.

As first reported by Mansion Global, the deal will become the priciest condo ever sold in Park Slope when it closes. The sprawling four-bedroom, four-bath residence is located at One Prospect Park West, a roughly 100-year-old building that originally served as a Knights of Columbus hotel and now has been converted into a luxury condominium with 64 homes.

A one-acre working farm opened at the Javits Center rooftop this week, providing a genuine farm-to-table experience for visitors of the convention center. The farm will include over 50 crops and 40,000 pounds of fruits and vegetables, which will be used in meals served on-site. The 200,000-square-foot rooftop, which also includes an enclosed glass pavilion, outdoor terrace, and a solar farm, is part of a $1.5 billion expansion project that has added a total of 1.2 million square feet of event space at the Javits Center.

Tickets officially go on sale today for Summit One Vanderbilt, the Midtown East tower's 1,000+ foot observation deck. Previously, we got a look at the two skyboxes that allow guests to stand on completely transparent glass 1,063 feet above Madison Avenue, and now developer SL Green has revealed even more of the sky-high attractions, including an all-glass outdoor elevator (yes, even the floor!) that travels up the side of the building to over 1,200 feet. But perhaps most mesmerizing is an art installation called Air created by Kenzo Digital. Covered on three sides, along with the floor and ceiling, in mirrors, the multisensory experience challenges one's perception of space and immerses the guest within the fabric of the skyline.

Wait list for 39 affordable apartments opens at rental near the Williamsburg waterfront, from $1,999/month

The 19-story rental at 321 Wythe Avenue opened in 2019, just two blocks from the South Williamsburg waterfront. After initially opening a lottery for 39 middle-income units, the building is relaunching its waitlist for these apartments. Currently, there are two vacant units, but all applicants will be placed on the list for future vacancies. Those earning 130 percent of the area median income can apply for the units that range from a $1,999/month one-bedroom to $2,459/month two-bedrooms.

Investor and attorney Donald Schupak gained fame back in 1976 when he oversaw the merger of the ABA and the NBA and garnered a highly lucrative deal for the Spirits of St. Louis. In 2015, he tried to score another deal when he listed his huge Upper East Side co-op at 1050 Fifth Avenue for $30 million. This time, he wasn't so successful, as it never sold. But he's now put the seven-bedroom, 7,500-square-foot spread--complete with Central Park views--back on the market for the reduced price of $21 million.

A housing lottery opened this week for 127 middle-income apartments at a brand new rental tower in Greenpoint. Two Blue Slip, one half of a pair of luxury towers developed by Brookfield Properties and Park Tower Group, is a 40-story building located on the waterfront at the northern end of the Brooklyn neighborhood. New Yorkers with combined household incomes between $81,258 and $192,400, or 130 percent of the area median income, can apply for the apartments, which start at $2,370/month studios, $2,542/month one-bedrooms, $3,063/month two-bedrooms, and $3,530/month three-bedrooms.

For the seventh year running, Roosevelt Island's waterfront rental building Manhattan Park has hired a local artist to transform its pool deck into a colorful art installation and "Pop-Up Pool Party." This year's mural comes from Brooklyn-based Melissa Dadourian, who created a technicolor geometric pattern over four-and-a-half days, using 36 gallons of paint. Though the pool is primarily for building residents, a number of seasonal memberships and day passes are available.
