For just $650K, you can own an entire historic three-bedroom house in Bayonne

With prices climbing in Hoboken and Jersey City, commuters are looking for more affordable yet convenient options across the Hudson. Bayonne is situated between Staten Island and Jersey City and is easily accessible via the Light Rail. Though the city has seen a lot of luxury development along the waterfront, it also has a healthy stock of single-family homes that offer a cool combo of urban and somewhat suburban living. Take this three-bedroom townhouse; it was built in 1891 and today retains much of its historic architecture, along with gorgeous modern upgrades, a sunroom and a mudroom, a detached garage, and a large yard. The best part? It's asking just $650,000--which will barely get you a one-bedroom apartment on the other side of the river.

Feel like you’re in the Napa Valley at this 86-acre NJ estate, asking $5.9M

A mansion, four "barns," a resort-like pool and jacuzzi, a full basketball court--these are just the main attractions at this $5,900,000 property located in Holland Township, New Jersey. The 86-acre estate feels like it's been plucked out of the Napa Valley, with its Tuscan style and rolling grounds. We're pretty certain it doesn't come with the insane sports car and classic car collections (there's even a retro mechanic shop!), but for the price of a Tribeca loft, this is quite the home.

For $4.75M, a restored Craftsman in Hoboken with six bedrooms and a big backyard

It's not often you find a Craftsman-style home in the northeast, which is why we were so taken with this freestanding house in Hoboken. Located at 819 Hudson Street, a block full of beautiful historic homes, it was built in 1912 and has changed hands only three times since then. The current owner underwent an extensive two-year renovation that included a 2,000+ square-foot extension, which brings the house to a total of 5,200 square feet, six bedrooms, and a full-floor rec room. Plus, because it's on an oversized lot, the backyard is extra large.

Now asking $1.75M, Richard Meier designed this Essex County, NJ home for his parents in 1965

His first commission in private practice, architect Richard Meier designed this modernist home in New Jersey for his parents in 1965. The home is set on three-quarters of an acre overlooking the Essex Fells Country Club and because of this natural setting, the architect introduced large glass walls to blur the boundaries between inside and outside. His parents requested a one-story home that offered privacy unlike most suburban homes, so Meier incorporated an interior courtyard, as well as a roof garden. The home has only had one other owner since the Meiers, and they've now listed it for $1,750,000.
