Beautiful Fort Greene apartment once home to Notorious B.I.G. lists for $1.7M

Not far from the Clinton Hill apartment where he grew up, the former Fort Greene home of the late rapper Notorious B.I.G. and his wife Faith Evens has hit the market for $1.7 million, as the NY Post reported. The two-bedroom duplex is located in a former stable building at 159 Carlton Avenue and is today owned by a well-known costume designer who infused the apartment with a gorgeous mix of historic architecture, art, and stylish upgrades. According to the Post, Biggie Smalls released his famous album "Ready to Die" while living here in 1994.

Gloria Vanderbilt’s Beekman Place apartment finds a buyer in just a month

Listed a little over a month ago, Gloria Vanderbilt's former Midtown East apartment is now in contract. As reported by the New York Post, the two-bedroom home at 30 Beekman Place was asking $1,125,000, with monthly maintenance fees of $4,311. CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, the son of the late heiress/businesswoman/artist, put his mom's apartment on the market in early August.

Joshua Kushner and Karlie Kloss buy Puck Building penthouse last listed for $42.5M

Joshua Kushner and Karlie Kloss are in contract to buy the largest penthouse at the historic Puck Building, a condo project in Nolita developed by the venture capitalist's family's real estate company. As first reported by the Wall Street Journal, Penthouse 1 measures an incredible 7,241 square feet and contains five bedrooms, seven and a half baths, and sprawling outdoor space. The final sales price hasn't been released, but the home was last listed for $42.5 million.

Olivier Sarkozy’s historic Turtle Bay townhouse comes back on the market for $11.5M

Olivier Sarkozy, banker and half-brother of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, has listed his Turtle Bay Gardens townhouse for $11,500,000, as the New York Times first reported. Sarkozy's five-year marriage to Mary-Kate Olsen ended earlier this year, and according to Vanity Fair, the "sticking point" of the divorce was this house. That's not really surprising, considering the home at 226 East 49th Street is a whopping 8,700 square feet and has historic and opulent features such as a grand ballroom, 22-foot coffered ceilings, and backyard art studio. Sarkozy bought the house in 2014 for $13.5 million from painter David Deutsch.

Actress Arlene Dahl--who achieved fame in the 1950s for her roles in Journey to the Center of the Earth, Slightly Scarlet, and Three Little Words--and her husband, renowned perfume bottle designer Marc Rosen, bought and restored this beautiful upstate Italianate Victorian 40 years ago. After decades of hosting many star-studded events at the home, including their son Lorenzo Lamas' wedding and an 80th birthday party for Helen Hayes, the couple has decided to list the Sparkill, New York property for $4,950,000. Known as Treetops, it was built in 1859 and has six bedrooms, eight original fireplaces, and plenty of period details.

Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka are selling their five-story townhouse in Harlem for $7,325,000. The couple paid $4,000,000 in 2013 for the 19th-century home at 2036 Fifth Avenue, which was renovated by interior designer Trace Lehnhoff in collaboration with architecture firm Povero & Company. Designed for entertaining, the five-bedroom townhouse has a theater, music room, wine cellar, a rear garden, third-floor deck with an outdoor jacuzzi, and an irrigated rooftop.

Jeff Bezos buys fifth apartment at Flatiron building for $23M

Shortly after returning to Earth following a quick journey into space last month, billionaire Jeff Bezos bought another apartment at a Flatiron building for an otherworldly $23 million. As first reported by the New York Post, Bezos has picked up a four-bedroom unit at 212 Fifth Avenue, where he already owns a three-story penthouse and three residences below it. With this latest addition to his real estate portfolio, the Amazon founder now owns $119 million worth of apartments in this condo building.

Former WeWork CEO Adam Neumann sells Greenwich Village townhouse for $13.65M

WeWork founder and former chief executive Adam Neumann has sold another property in his portfolio. The Greek Revival-style townhouse at 41 West 11th Street in Greenwich Village has sold for $13,650,000, according to property records. Neumann, who was ousted as the company's CEO in 2019, and his wife, Rebekah Paltrow Neumann, paid $10.5 million for the home in 2013. The sale was first reported by the Wall Street Journal.

The apartment in Midtown East where Gloria Vanderbilt lived for nearly 25 years is for sale. CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, the son of the late heiress-businesswoman-artist, is selling the three-bedroom, two-bath residence at 30 Beekman Place for $1,125,000, as first reported by the New York Times. Filled with artwork and family treasures, much of the apartment has remained the same since Vanderbilt's death in 2019 at the age of 95.

Located at 520 West 28th Street, the condo building on the High Line designed by the late architect Zaha Hadid, the residence measures an impressive 4,000 square feet, with five bedrooms and four and a half baths. As 6sqft previously reported, the apartment was listed for $16,000,000 in 2018 when the Grammy Award winner moved in.

Billionaire Joe Tsai revealed as buyer of $157.5M condos at 220 Central Park South

As was first reported by the Wall Street Journal in June, a buyer shelled out $157,500,000 for two units at 220 Central Park South. Property records showed the $82.5 million purchase of the 60th-floor unit and the $75 million purchase of the 61st-floor unit, both made using an LLC. But CNBC has now revealed that the buyer is billionaire Joe Tsai, Alibaba co-founder and owner of the Brooklyn Nets. The sale is the second biggest in New York City history and the third-largest ever in the U.S. The number-one spot occurred at the same Billionaires' Row tower, with billionaire Ken Griffin's $238 million purchase in early 2019.

Ben Stiller’s childhood home on the Upper West Side is for sale after more than 50 years

The long-time Upper West Side home of the late comedy duo Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara has hit the market for the first time in more than 50 years, the New York Times first reported. The expanded co-op at 118 Riverside Drive is where they raised their children, actors Amy Stiller and Ben Stiller, as well as "wrote and collaborated on material and entertained a host of celebrities," according to the Times. Stiller and Meara moved from Washington Heights into unit 5A in 1965 when the building was a rental (they paid $220/month) and purchased it when the building went co-op a few years later. In the early '80s, they also bought unit 5B and combined them into the five-bedroom home that is now listed for $5 million.

Investor and attorney Donald Schupak gained fame back in 1976 when he oversaw the merger of the ABA and the NBA and garnered a highly lucrative deal for the Spirits of St. Louis. In 2015, he tried to score another deal when he listed his huge Upper East Side co-op at 1050 Fifth Avenue for $30 million. This time, he wasn't so successful, as it never sold. But he's now put the seven-bedroom, 7,500-square-foot spread--complete with Central Park views--back on the market for the reduced price of $21 million.

Luann de Lesseps, star of "The Real Housewives of New York," is renting her waterfront Sag Harbor home for the months of July and August, as the New York Post first reported. "I want to travel after the pandemic," de Lesseps, who also added she is also getting ready for her cabaret shows scheduled for this fall, told the newspaper. The Hamptons property sits on Sag Harbor Cove and boasts water views and a private dock. According to the listing, renters will pay $100,000 for the month of July, $110,000 for August, or $200,000 for both months.

Bette Midler has sold her massive Upper East Side penthouse, which was last listed for $50 million. The entertainer and her husband, Martin von Haselberg, first bought the 14-room triplex at 1125 Fifth Avenue in the late 1990s, according to the Wall Street Journal, which first reported the sale. Taking up the top three levels of the Emery Roth-designed co-op, the residence measures 7,000 square feet with an additional 3,000 square feet of outdoor terraces.

As first reported by the New York Post, the Super Bowl champion bought a $7 million three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath luxury apartment at 35 Hudson Yards, the tallest building in the mega-development. Just listed for $15,995,000, this Chelsea townhouse at 328 West 23rd Street will have you drooling from the first look. In addition to the decadent decor and architecture, the home has three large balconies, a full-length roof terrace, and a large garden complete with a hot tub. It also has a very cool 1,000-bottle wine cellar that even has a dumbwaiter to move the wine to the level above. The bragging rights don't stop here, though.
