Talk about a living arrangement that's holier than thou. This chapel is part of the former Edwin Denison Morgan III estate in Old Westbury, Long Island. The impressive estate, complete with gardens and fountains, was designed by the great Stanford White in the late-19th century, and now its chapel is on the market for $3.25 million. (It's a price decrease from last year, when it hit the market for $4.3 million.) Amazingly, the chapel was once connected to the estate’s other buildings by tunnels, though it was converted a while back to a four-bedroom home. Cathedral ceilings, stained-glass windows designed by John La Farge--the stunning space has got everything, not to mention a heated gunite pool and putting green outside.

The mini-complex was designed by 1100 Architect and occupies a total of 15 wooded acres. Neil Patrick Harris drops $5.5M on East Hamptons’ notorious ‘orgy estate’

As far as we know, family-man Neil Patrick Harris doesn't partake in the swinger lifestyle, so he'll likely have to do a bit of updating (and perhaps, cleaning) at his new East Hampton home--the notorious "orgy estate" where an elite sex club hosted an over-the-top event this past summer. The Post reports that Harris and hubby David Burtka dropped $5.5 million on the sprawling estate, which sits on 13.5 acres of open meadows and gardens and boasts a tennis court, pool and pool house, renovated barn, and beachy 5,500-square-foot main home.

The megawatt real estate of the Hamptons may be suffering from shrinkage as a new generation of glitterati increasingly chooses the rustic charm of upstate New York instead. Business Insider reports a surge in the popularity of second homes and tourist activity in Hudson Valley and Catskills towns—and a corresponding dip in Hamptons home prices—in 2016.

A (pricey) piece of pop culture memorabilia is up for grabs, reports the NY Post. The Hamptons mansion featured in Seinfeld's unforgettable "ugly baby" episode—also known as "The Hamptons!"—has just hit the market for $8.75 million. While the estate situated at 45 Whalers Lane in Amagansett has a lot to tout—including 4,000 square feet of space and sweeping oceanfront views—what really makes the house special is the fact it is where the term "shrinkage" was introduced into modern day vernacular.

Eli Manning buys $8M beachfront mansion in the Hamptons

His dreams of winning a third Super Bowl may have been squashed yesterday, but at least Eli Manning's got a nice new beachfront mansion in the Hamptons to go home to. The Post reports that the Giants Quarterback dropped $8.5 million on a three-story house in Quogue, a secluded village that isn't a surprising choice for the rather low-key NFL player. The modern home was built in 2004 and has five bedrooms, a fireplace, pool, massive backyard deck, and private beach access.

Matt Lauer sells cute, beachy bay front Hamptons cottage for $3.5M

Back in July 6sqft reported that "Today Show" host Matt Lauer had put his Southampton beach cottage at 67 Scotts Landing Road on the market for $4 million; the listing was one of several real estate moves the seasoned TV journo has recently made, including the purchase of Richard Gere's Hamptons estate for $36 million at around the same time. Now Variety reports that the diminutive seaside home has sold for $3.5 million–less than the ask but a nice bump from the home's $2.19 million 2009 purchase price. In addition to the aforementioned 6.3 acre gated North Haven estate, Lauer and his wife Annette also currently own Brightside Farms, a 40-acre tract of land in Water Mill on which they have built a world-class equestrian facility and a 25-acre estate in the Water Mill area that includes an 8,000-square-foot 6-bedroom mansion decorated by Muriel Brandolini; the latter is also currently on the market for $17 million.

Own a glass-box Hamptons home designed by One World Trade Center’s structural engineer

Jeff Smilow is the Executive Vice President of buildings at WSP|Parsons Brinckerhoff, and perhaps his greatest accomplishment has been serving as the structural engineer for One World Trade Center. His streamlined, rhythmic approach is also seen at this contemporary glass and steel home in East Hampton, which he completed just this year. Now on the market for $5.5 million, the transparent residence best exemplifies Smilow's handiwork on its first floor, where the 5,000-square-foot open plan is surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows, completely unencumbered by columns.

Spend the holidays in the infamous 28-room Grey Gardens estate

Though now this 28-room mansion looks like your typical East Hampton property, it was once a decrepit, crumbling, cat-infested, overgrown horror that came to be known as the Grey Gardens Estate, based on the title of the 1975 documentary that immortalized the isolated and impoverished lives of its residents Edith wing Bouvier Beale and her daughter Edith Bouvier Beale (the aunt and cousin to Jackie O). Back in September 2015, 6sqft shared that the now-restored 1.7-acre estate was up for rent asking $175,000 a year (except for August, when the owners presumably holiday). The Post also reports that there's shorter-term options for the upcoming holidays--$7,500 for Thanksgiving week and $12,500 the week of Christmas.

Wood-Clad Long Island home by Bates Masi takes inspiration from Quaker architecture

Simplicity, humility and inner focus were key to early Quaker architecture, principles that also inspired Bates Masi + Architects' latest project. The beautiful Underhill home sits in Matinecock, a village within Oyster Bay, Long Island, on the site of an old Quaker settlement. It's composed of a series of interconnected wooden pavilions topped by angled gabled roofs, "each one focused inward on its own garden courtyard instead of out to the surrounding neighbors," according to the firm.

Hamptons estate where Jackie O spent her childhood summers lists for $50M

6sqft has already taken a look at the posh Upper East Side building where Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis grew up, and now we can go inside the 100-year-old Hamptons estate where she spent her childhood summers. The ‘Summer White House’ of the Hamptons could be yours for $14.2M

It's no easy feat to make it to the White House, but the Hampton's alternative is available to anybody willing to stomach the cost of renting or buying it. 20 Union Street, a three-story Victorian mansion built in 1796, was considered the "Summer White House" for President Chester A. Arthur (he also owned a townhouse in Murray Hill). Since the former president vacationed there, it has been throughly renovated into a modern, luxurious Hamptons pad. The six-bedroom, four-and-a-half bathroom home is up for both sale and rent, asking $14.2 million or $480,000 per year. (The price to rent between Memorial and Labor Day is $390,000.)

This Montauk Beach House, Reminiscent of the Salk Institute, Blends Naturally With the Shore

This beach house, designed on the shores of Montauk by John Pawson, is anything but flashy. Instead, the goal was to blend the building with its surroundings--"to engage naturally with the flow of the dune," as Pawson put it. It's almost reminiscent of the Salk Institute, a complex designed by Louis Kahn in La Jolla, California that powerfully engages with the Pacific Ocean. Here, the home barely peeks above all the beachfront brush surrounding the Atlantic. And from the interior, numerous decks look like they're extending naturally into the sand. Dreamy Hamptons Vacation Home Designed by Mid-Century Architect Andrew Geller Asks $2M

Vacation homes don't get much better than this. The abode at 375 Brick Kiln Road in the Hamptons was designed by the Mid-century architect Andrew Geller. He was known for designing creative homes across Long Island that utilize low-cost materials in unconventional ways, according to Curbed Hamptons, and he created this one--known as the Elizabeth Reese house--in 1963. The striking $2.2 million beach cottage, featuring triangular windows with projecting flaps, sits on a beautiful five acres of land. Unpretentious Beach House by Space Exploration Is a Perfect Retreat For a Creative City Pair

Understandably busy creative couple Elisa Restrepo, co-founder of the luxurious minimalist shoe label Dieppa Restrepo, and restaurateur Dylan Dodd (Karasu, Walter’s, Walter Foods, and Barrio Chino) turned to Brooklyn architects Space Exploration to transform their three-story split-level house in the laid-back (though lately less so) surfing village of Montauk. 6sqft has featured the firm's work before, and they've done another fine job creating an un-fussy and livable space with white and pale woods, earthy textiles and plenty of natural light. The house underwent a full gut remodel, including extensive landscaping, which took a year, but looks completely worth the effort.

Matt Lauer Lists Another Hamptons Home, This One a 25-Acre Estate for $18M

Matt Lauer is a man on a mission. After scooping up Richard Gere's North Haven compound for $36 million last month, he listed his Southampton beach cottage just a few days later for $4 million. Now, Curbed reports that he's also trying to unload his Sag Harbor estate for $18 million. The home at 2301 Deerfield Road serves as the main house for him and wife Annette. It encompasses 25 acres on two lots, including the super-stylish 8,000-square-foot home, a huge 70' x 20' gunite pool and pool house, tennis court, and gorgeous landscaped grounds.
