Pfizer’s former Midtown HQ to become 1,500 apartments

The former Midtown headquarters of pharmaceutical company Pfizer is poised to become New York City's largest office-to-residential conversion. As Crain's New York first reported, the vacant two-building complex at 219 and 235 East 42nd Street will become a 1,500-unit rental property. Metro Loft Developers, the team behind other large residential conversions, including 55 Broad Street in the Financial District, is leading the conversion. The project will not contain any affordable housing units, according to the developer.

Park Slope development with 305 new apartments approved by City Council

Park Slope will soon see the addition of two high-rise rentals, bringing more than 300 new apartments to the neighborhood. The City Council last month approved a rezoning application from Stellar Management to construct two new buildings at 341 10th Street, in addition to the existing apartment building on the site the developer already owns. The project includes new 17- and 19-story buildings that would wrap around the subway covering where the F and G trains go below ground, as The Real Deal reported. The project adds 305 new apartments, 162 of which will be income-restricted, bringing the total number of units from 154 to 459 at the property.

ODA-designed Crown Heights rental with 328 apartments secures $135M in financing

The Crown Heights rental development that drew the ire of residents for replacing an Associated Supermarket is moving forward. The Hudson Companies on Monday announced it closed on $135 million in financing for the mixed-use project at 975 Nostrand Avenue, a new nine-story development with 328 apartments. As part of a deal reached in 2021, a grocery store run by the same manager of the previous store will take up about 20,000 square feet at the new building.

$12B Hudson Yards casino proposal details three skyscrapers, 1,500 apartments, a hotel, and offices

What could a casino look like in Hudson Yards? Related Companies this week filed plans with the city detailing a massive $12 billion development on the undeveloped western portion of Hudson Yards. As first spotted by Crain's, the proposal calls for the construction of three skyscrapers, including an 80-story residential building with 1,500 apartments, an office tower with roughly 2.2 million square feet of office space, and a gaming facility and hotel resort with 1,750 rooms run by Wynn Resorts. This $31M Upper East Side mansion with long and layered history is now four beautiful apartments
