Fashion icon and long-time West Village inhabitant Cynthia Rowley is selling her three-story, 25-foot-wide townhouse on 16 Morton Street for $17.5 million. Rowley first picked up the West Village home for $10.99 million in 2014, according to the New York Post. In addition to its sheer size, the townhouse features amenities like a curb-cut garage and over 18-foot tall ceilings. The 6,000-square-foot space also comes with additional air rights.

Owners of Donald Trump’s former Connecticut mansion try to unload it again for $45M

It looks like it's not just owners within Trump-branded condo buildings who are struggling to sell their homes, but the owners of individual homes with connections to the President, too. In 1998, financier Robert Steinberg and his wife Suzanne paid $15 million for this 5.8-acre Greenwich, Connecticut estate on its own peninsula. It was previously owned by a then-Democratic Donald Trump and his wife Ivana, but when they divorced in 1991, she kept the mansion. Likely not realizing what was yet to come, the Steinbergs first listed the home in early January 2016 for $54 million, dropping the price to $45 million in May. But according to the Wall Street Journal, when Trump's campaign "started heating up," they took the listing down. Although the fire has only grown, they've now decided to try again.

This palatial Long Island mansion has been named Maison des Jardins--or, "house of gardens"--and it's been closely modeled after the Palace of Versailles. According to Mansion Global, entrepreneur Raphael Yakoby "developed a love for everything French when he started his business there." And so, he spent $3.25 million in 2010 for an 8.4-acre plot in Old Brookville and started building his dream palace. It really looks like something out of a dream, with 22-foot-high iron gates, gardens, and courtyards. The listing calls this building at 799 Washington Street "one of the last grand historic structures in prime meatpacking district." And it could be yours for a cool $75 million. Turning it into a mega-mansion, however, will require serious work. (Though there's no lack for inspiration when it comes to mega-mansions in New York.) The 23,000-square-foot structure is currently configured as a high-end film studio and commercial space, topped off with a residential penthouse unit. Other suggestions to any deep-pocketed buyer, per the listing, include conversions to a boutique hotel or a multi-unit, live/work building.

50 Cent’s Connecticut mansion gets a $13M price cut ahead of ‘Million Dollar Listing’ stint

50 Cent's lavish Connecticut mansion--which has undergone some pretty significant price chopping--is about to get its 15 minutes of fame. The New York Post reports that the house will soon be featured on Bravo’s "Million Dollar Listing." There's certainly a lot to show off on this 17-acre estate: the property boasts 19 bedrooms, 25 bathrooms, an indoor pool and hot tub, night club, indoor basketball court, multiple game rooms, a "green screen room," recording studio, gym, conference room and home theater. (And there are some 50 Cent-themed amenities to boot.) But it hasn't had any luck finding a buyer, with the price getting slashed from $18.5 million down to $4.995 million.

Did the Obamas just close on this classy Upper East Side duplex for almost $10M?

In October, 6sqft reported that Barack and Michelle Obama had been spotted on their way to view a listing in Yorkville's 10 Gracie Square. At the time, it was speculated that they checked out a five-bedroom duplex that had gone into contract for $10 million shortly following the visit. The buyer wasn't confirmed, but the unit has now closed for $9.64 million (h/t Katherine Clarke), purchased through a "Gracie Square Revocable Trust. So while it's still not confirmed that the Obamas are moving to the Upper East Side, the building is one of New York City's most prestigious addresses, located just a stone's throw away from the Mayor's residence and over the years attracting the likes of Alexander Woollcott, conductor Andre Kostelanetz, Gloria Vanderbilt and Madame Chiang Kai-Shek.

6sqft reported last year that the Amagansett home at 45 Whalers Lane, featured in Seinfeld's unforgettable "ugly baby" episode—also known as "The Hamptons!"—was for sale, asking $8.75 million. Now, according to Curbed, the 4,000- square-foot Hamptons estate with sweeping oceanfront views that helped introduce the term "shrinkage" into modern day vernacular has just sold for a somehow-appropriate $5.725 million–about $3 million less than its original ask.

Upper East Side mansion with Warhols and a gold-plated couch is back on the market for $24M

A five-story townhouse at 132 East 62nd Street in the Upper East Side that has resurfaced on the market for $24 million comes complete with artworks by Andy Warhol, Anish Kapoor, and Roy Lichtenstein, books signed by William Faulkner and Joan Didion–and an oil painting by Frank Sinatra (h/t Curbed). The decked-out manse was renovated from stem to stern by jewelry designer (and singer Duncan Sheik's mom!) Suzanne Sheik, who bought it from a Chanel exec and sold it in 2010 to "an accomplished designer" who spent another three years renovating. Macy’s executive pays $10.5M for Hilary Swank’s former West Village townhouse

What was once Hilary Swank's picture-perfect townhouse, at 33 Charles in the West Village has found a new owner. Mansion Global reports that Harry A. Lawton III, the president of Macy's department store, paid $10.5 million for the three-story home. The townhouse was built in 1899, designated a New York City landmark in 1969, and has more recently undergone a gorgeous renovation. Adding to the home’s cachet, Swank lived here with then-husband Chad Lowe from 2002, when she purchased it for $3.9 million, until 2006, when it was sold for $8.25 million. The townhouse was then listed this June by Corcoran for $11.995 million and went into contract early November. The sellers, according to property records, are Clyde and Summer Anderson, who run Books-a-Million, the second largest bookstore chain in the U.S.

$80M Upper East Side mansion could set a record for most expensive townhouse ever sold in NYC

A 20,000-square-foot Upper East Side mansion--complete with its own red velvet movie theater, panic room, and double-height library, has entered contract priced at $80 million. And according to the Wall Street Journal, if it closes at that price the property will become the most expensive townhouse ever sold in New York City. The sale would beat out a record set just this year, when the 25,000-square-foot, 41-foot-wide townhouse at 19 East 64th Street belonging to art heir David Wildenstein closed for $79.5 million. This home, located at 12 East 69th Street, came on the market in 2013 for roughly $114 million but was delisted after a price cut to $98 million in 2014.

Private island mansion with celebrity history and NYC views returns for $8.7M

Back in 2015, 6sqft covered this unusual property. The mansion at Tavern Island is, in fact, on a 2.7-acre private island off the coast of Connecticut. Even cooler is the island's history: The property's main house was built in the 1930s and was home to screenwriter Lillian Hellman when she was writing “The Little Foxes,” Mansion Global reports, and theater impresario Billy Rose owned the island in the 1960s and hosted lavish parties for the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Maureen O’Sullivan, and Barbara Streisand. In addition to these epic bragging rights, the new owner of the island will gain a six-bedroom English Colonial mansion dating to 1900, private beach, swimming pool, and a docking area and boat for access the mainland. According to property records, the current owners bought the island for $950,000 in 1981.
