Luxury gym Equinox is now accepting reservations for its Hudson Yards hotel, the company’s first foray into lodging. When it opens in June, the hotel will take up floors 24 through 38 of 35 Hudson Yards, a 1,000-foot-tall tower designed by David Childs and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill for the recently opened neighborhood. The hotel’s 212 rooms are designed to promote better sleep, featuring soundproofed walls, blackout shades, and a thermostat set to 66 degrees. According to the Equinox Hotel website, rooms can be booked starting July 15, with rates starting at more than $700 per night.

“Steeped with deep knowledge of how to cater 24/7 to the high-performance needs of the most discerning community, we are a company that has always seen the world differently and defined trends rather than following them,” Harvey Spevak, the executive chairman of Equinox, said in a statement. “Everything we’ve done to this point has given us true license to enter hospitality and chart its future with a completely fresh, uniquely ‘Equinox’ experience and point of view.”

Equinox describes each hotel room as being a “quiet, calming chamber for restorative rest.” The bed, free of metal springs, provides more support to adapt to the sleeper’s shape. Christopher Norton, the CEO of Equinox Hotels, told the Wall Street Journal he developed a mattress-testing process to find the best one.

“I road-tested dozens of mattresses at home,” Norton said. “Imagine my wife’s reaction each time a new one showed up.”

The extravagance continues into the rooms’ bathrooms, which include showers with three rainforest heads. The hotel even provides its own shower gels created by Grown Alchemist, that, according to the website, are infused with aromatic herbs which “grow along the High Line.”

Guests will have access to the Equinox fitness center 24 hours a day; club members are restricted to 5:30 a.m. and 10 p.m. The amenities of the Equinox Hudson Yards club include an outdoor pool and sun deck, an indoor saltwater lap pool, and well-equipped locker rooms.

The site also contains an outpost of the personalized training club, E by Equinox, and a spa specializing in recovery. There will also be fitness classes that require participants to climb the centerpiece of Hudson Yards’, 150-foot-tall “Vessel.”

The hotel’s 24th floor has a large dining room by restaurateur Stephen Starr with an 8,000-square-foot terrace. Guests will also have access to a bar that will offer “adaptogenic superfood latte” and a “high-intensity series of martinis.”

The RoomBar, a minibar found in every room, has artisanal cocktails, superfoods, a purified seawater solution, sleep supplements, condoms, and bio-cellulose face masks, as the WSJ noted. Oh, and don’t forget about the on-site nurse who will administer IV drips to bust hangovers on demand.

Equinox plans to expand its hotel brand to Los Angeles, Santa Clara, Seattle, Chicago, and Houston.

Guests who book on the hotel’s website will have access to one free personal training session, SoulCycle class, or a spa treatment. Learn more about the hotel at Hudson Yards and how to book reservations here.
