Like the East Wing of the White House, Donald Trump’s childhood home is unrecognizable after a gut renovation. While not quite bulldozed, the Tudor-style property in Jamaica Estates, Queens, where the president lived until he was four, was totally rebuilt after a burst water pipe led to mold all over the home, which has been vacant except for a colony of feral cats. After selling for $835,000 earlier this year, the home at 85-15 Wareham Place is now back on the market for $2,300,000.

Trump’s father, Fred, a real estate developer, built the brick-and-stucco home in 1940. The family lived there until Trump was four years old and later moved into a nearby mansion on Midland Parkway.

The Jamaica Estate property has been on and off the market for many years since Trump’s election in 2016. Real estate mogul Michael Davis purchased the home that year for $1.39 million and sold it for $2.14 million in 2017 to a Chinese buyer.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Davis leased it back for $4,000 per month and put it on Airbnb for nearly $800 per night, decorated with Trump memorabilia and a cutout of the president.
After listing for $2.9 million in 2019, the home later went to auction, but no qualified bids came forward. As 6sqft reported, the home, after falling into disrepair, sold at a steep discount of $835,000 this past winter.

The property offers 2,500 square feet, five bedrooms, three full baths, and two half baths. The current owner, real estate developer Tommy Lin, spent eight months on the gut renovation, according to the Journal.
“Once the childhood home of President Donald Trump, this property carries a rich historical pedigree, now complemented by meticulous contemporary craftsmanship,” as the listing on Brown Harris Stevens states.

On the main level, there’s a living room with herringbone hardwood floors, custom millwork, and an adjoining dining room. The modern kitchen features Bosch appliances and a Fisher & Paykel refrigerator. A sunroom with an original wood stove overlooks the backyard.

In addition to one bedroom on the main level, the remaining bedrooms are on the second and third floors, the former of which holds the primary suite with a private bath and dressing area.

Other features include a finished basement with a family room and laundry room, a two-car detached garage, and front and rear yards.
