NYC Restaurant Week returns with 570 local restaurants and to-go options

New York City Restaurant Week is now Restaurant Month. Due to popular demand, NYC Restaurant Week To Go, which launched on Monday, will run through February 28 instead of on Sunday as originally planned. During the month, diners can buy one bargain meal for delivery or takeout for $20.21, which includes an entree and at least one side, from each restaurant. According to NYC & Company, the city's tourism agency behind the program, a record 570 restaurants in over 100 neighborhoods are participating this year.

Governors Island will reopen on July 15 with limited capacity

Summer is not totally canceled in New York City. Governors Island will officially reopen to the public next week for passive activities only and with a new reservation system for ferries. The Trust for Governors Island announced on Wednesday a system that lets visitors reserve tickets for ferry trips to the 172-acre site for the first time ever, as a way to allow for social distancing. Originally planned to open for the season in May, the Trust had postponed its opening in April because of the coronavirus.

This Catskills community was designed by a real-life cowboy

The Chapin Estate is a 2,500-acre gated residential preserve in the Catskills, a 90-minute drive from midtown Manhattan. And if its rustic-yet-elegant style seems striking to you, that's likely because its founder, a real-life former rodeo star, was inspired by historic Adirondack Great Camps. Rather than “amenitizing” nature, Steve Dubrovsky designed around freshwater lakes and forests and left the site "wild." There is a lake club for fishing and swimming, a gym, two pickleball courts, a tennis court, and a half basketball court. There is also Crestwood Mountain Farms, a working horse and cattle facility for all its residents to enjoy. Plus, the homes themselves were constructed using lumber from the site.
