Downtown Brooklyn will be home to New York City’s newest pickleball club. Located on the fourth floor of the mixed-use complex City Point, the 26,000-square-foot Court 16 will offer seven tennis and pickleball courts for kids and adults, with each court ranging in size from 36 feet for young players to full-sized courts for experienced players. The club’s August 28 grand opening coincides with the start of the 2023 U.S. Open Tennis Tournament finals.

Court 16 joins the racquet sports club’s roster of NYC locations, which includes branches in Long Island City, the Financial District, and Gowanus. The club also includes a contemporary lounge featuring luxurious interior design by Ligne Roset and offers the widest selection of Babolat racquets in the five boroughs.

“Brooklyn is where our heart beats, and we are thrilled to be opening Court 16 at City Point, a lifestyle destination,” Anthony Evrard, co-founder and CEO of Court 16, said. “Our biggest venue yet, the new flagship joins thriving locations in Long Island City and the Financial District. It will further our USTA-sanctioned approach of teaching racquet sports on courts, which increase in size as athletes graduate to higher levels.”

Like everywhere across the country, Pickleball has been taking NYC by storm. In April, Central Park’s Wollman Rink turned into CityPickle, a 14-court pickleball installation offering lessons, clinics, leagues, open-play sessions, tournaments, and other activities for players of all levels. CityPickle will be opening its first-ever permanent location in Long Island City this year, featuring indoor climate-controlled courts, a full bar, and a restaurant.

Enrollment for the club’s fall season activities has already begun, which includes pickleball programming, tennis classes organized based on skill and age for younger players, and adult tennis classes ranging from novice to experienced levels.

Pickleball sessions at Court 16 start at $48. More information on Court 16 and how to enroll can be found here.
