Skip the ferry lines and stuffy subway cars and ride to the beach in air-conditioned style. Long Island City-based Rockaway Brewery Co. has launched a mini-coach bus that travels between their tap room and Rockaway Beach every Saturday until Labor Day. The “Brew Cruiser” costs $20 for round trip service.
Beach-goers will be able to enjoy craft beer provided by Rockaway Brewery Co., with the option to purchase beach packs, which includes growlers and cans, at the tap room. The bus has storage space for beach chairs, towels, and even surfboards.
The 28-seat Brew Cruiser runs six loops every Saturday, departing Long Island City at around 9:45 a.m. and every two hours following. Returns start at about 4 p.m. and run until 9 p.m. The ride is estimated to take between 45 to 50 minutes.
Passengers will be dropped off directly at the beach at Beach 73rd Street and Beach Front Road and can pick up the LIC-bound bus at the brewery’s Rockaway Beach Location.
