As 6sqft previously reported, the three buildings that comprise the Upper West Side's Waterline Square are rapidly rising from a five-acre site overlooking the Hudson River. For the neighborhood's most exciting and ambitious project in decades, a group of the architecture and design world's most celebrated names was chosen by GID Development Group to create the master plan, with Richard Meier and Partners, Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates and Rafael Viñoly Architects each designing a residential tower. We've been graced with leaked renderings of what's to come on several occasions; now, the project's dream team has lifted the curtain on a comprehensive website that reveals so-far unseen renderings of the towers and their interiors, the 100,000 square feet of amenity space that will be shared between them and the three-acre park designed by Mathews Nielsen Landscape Architects.

Former writing studio of NY Review of Books founder Elizabeth Hardwick asks $1.4M

This quaint Upper West Side one bedroom comes from the Central Park Studios, an apartment cooperative built in 1905 by artists and writers for the purpose of creating living and studio space for their creative endeavors. Unsurprisingly, this apartment has its own creative history: it served as the writing studio to Elizabeth Hardwick, acclaimed author and co-founder of the New York Review of Books. She lived here with her husband, the poet Robert Lowell, until her death in 2007. The present owner, according to the listing, then wrote his first published book here. So who will be the next writer to continue the apartment's creative energy, for the asking amount of $1.42 million?

Alec Baldwin sells Eldorado apartment for $1.25M

When he's not channelling his inner Trump, Alec Baldwin spends a good deal of time buying and selling NYC real estate. He and wife Hilaria welcomed their third child in the fall, presumably making their current $12 million three-bedroom home in Greenwich Village’s Devonshire House a bit too small (Alec also owns the unit next door, and as 6sqft reported, he sold another one-bedroom in the building for $2.1 million in 2015). The couple was seen scoping out a couple Nomad-area places this fall, but they may now be ready to make the jump as Alec has unloaded yet another apartment, this time uptown at the Eldorado on Central Park West. The unit was an annex, or perhaps maids quarters, for a larger spread in the building, which Alec sold for $9.5 million in 2011. Six years later, he's found a buyer for its counterpart, scoring $1.25 million from private equity firm founder and political economist David E. Spiro.

Starchitect César Pelli lists 5,000-square-foot San Remo apartment with gorgeous views for $26M

Internationally renowned architect César Pelli, founder of the firm Pelli Clarke Pelli, just listed his San Remo apartment at 145 Central Park West for $26 million (h/t LLNYC). Pelli and his wife, landscape architect and urban design scholar Diana Balmori, who died last year, purchased the five-bedroom co-op for $17.5 million in 2015 from John Leguizamo's mother-in-law, Rona Maurer. Pelli is known for skyscrapers like Kuala Lumpur's Petronas Towers and, closer to home, Brookfield Place in Lower Manhattan, and he's now hoping to make quite the profit on this incredible spread.

First look at the amazing amenities at Waterline Square

As 6sqft previously reported, a trio of glassy residential towers known as Waterline Square is rising on a five-acre waterfront site between West 59th and 61st Streets. Aside from the megaproject's size, its roster of starchitects–Richard Meier and Partners, Rafael Viñoly Architects, and Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates–has been most impressive. But now a head-spinning host of perks joins the wow-factor, as Curbed reports that the Rockwell Group has revealed renderings of a three-story amenity space to be dubbed The Waterline Club, divided among all three buildings. Among the offerings are a three-lane pool; 4,600-square-foot kids' playroom; gardening, art, and music studios; and indoor tennis court, basketball court, soccer field, and skate park.

This apartment boasts lofty vibes inside but comes from a historic landmarked townhouse of the Upper West Side. Located at 357 West End Avenue, a Lamb and Rich-designed corner property, this two-bedroom apartment sits on the top floor. Bad news: it looks like it's a walk-up. Sting’s futuristic-meets-classic 15 Central Park West penthouse hits the market for $56M

British rocker Sting and his wife Trudie Styler have listed their chic duplex at the Robert A.M. Stern-designed 15 Central Park West for $56 million (h/t WSJ). The couple purchased the 16th- and 17th-floor penthouse for about $27 million in 2008, and then enlisted architecture and interior design firm SheltonMindel to combine the units and transform them into a "unique home" that includes two custom sculptural spiral staircases and a double-sided spiral gas fireplace that was inspired by the Fibonacci Spiral. Last summer, the couple was in negotiations to buy another Stern condo at 220 Central Park South, one of NYC's most expensive apartment buildings, and now that they "need more space to accommodate their growing family" the time may be ripe to do so.

$24M full-floor condo in the historic Apthorp would be the building’s largest and most expensive sale ever

Back when Billionaires' Row was little more than Central Park South, the newly-converted historic Apthorp condominium building at 390 West End Avenue in the heart of the Upper West Side was said to be one of the city's most expensive apartment buildings. Built for William Waldorf Astor in 1908, the building surrounds an interior courtyard, setting it apart from Manhattan’s many other regal residences. Converted to condominiums after being sold in 2006, the building’s most luxurious units arrived on the market in 2013, and new Manhattan sales records were set. Rosie O’Donnell checks out $5.75M mod co-op on the Upper West Side

It's been two-and-a-half years since Rosie O'Donnell sold her chic Greenwich Village penthouse for $9 million, presumably spending more time at her other home in Nyack. But it looks like she's ready to move back to NYC, as the Post says that she's been house hunting on the Upper West Side. O'Donnell reportedly checked out a $5.75 million spread at the historic artist co-op 27 West 67th Street--part of the West 67th Street Artists’ Colony History District. The ultra-mod duplex is currently owned by internationally famed artist Abby Leigh, whose late husband was Tony-winning “Man of La Mancha” composer Mitch Leigh.

Robert A.M. Stern will lead the transformation of the historic Belnord into condos

The conversion of the historic Belnord into luxury condominiums is moving forward, with the property expected to be brought to market as early as the third quarter of the year. This morning, HFZ Capital announced they have tapped starchitect Robert A.M. Stern to helm the transformation, which would turn approximately 95 rental apartments in the full-block, 1908 building at 225 West 86th Street into fully converted and reimagined apartments. In all, the limestone-and-brick structure currently maintains 213 rental units.

Here's a chance to live right off Central Park West without spending a fortune. This fun, colorful studio has hit the market for $575,000 at The Park Royal, an Upper West Side co-op just a half block from the park. Director Ron Howard lists Central Park West co-op in the Eldorado for $12.5M

First look at the interiors of Waterline Square’s trio of towers

As 6sqft reported in November, a trio of glassy residential towers is rising on the five-acre waterfront site between West 59th and 61st Streets that comprises part of Riverside Center. Known as Waterline Square, the megaproject will offer a combination of condos and rentals, a Mathews Nielsen-designed park, and an impressive roster of starchitects–Richard Meier and Partners, Rafael Viñoly Architects, and Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates. CityRealty now reports that the development team has announced the trio of designers who will shape the interiors--Champalimaud, Yabu Pushelberg and Groves & Co.--which comes with a fresh set of renderings.

Seven years later, he's changed careers from the architecture field to acting (you've seen him in "How I Met Your Mother" and "How to be Single" and he's currently filming the upcoming show "Bull") and transformed his tiny home into a custom-designed, multi-functional retreat. ‘Spacious and rambling’ seven-room apartment asks $2.7M on the Upper West Side

This eight-story building at 314 West 100th Street on the Upper West Side was known as The Chateaux when it opened in 1910. Designed as a luxurious residence, there were only four apartments per floor--and each boasted a spacious floorplan typical of prewar co-ops at the time. The building went condo in 2007 but the floorplans and interior details remained. So while this $2.725 million unit is being sold as a condo, it has all the bones of the "spacious and rambling" apartment, as the listing calls it, first envisioned back in 1910.

Samantha Bee gets ‘Full Frontal’ with new $3.7M Riverside Drive co-op

Now that political commentator Samantha Bee is into her second season hosting "Full Frontal" it looks like she wants to put down some permanent roots near the show's west side studio at CBS. Extell reveals renderings of new Central Park West condo tower

Though Extell is best known for sky-high mega-developments like One57, the Central Park Tower, and One Manhattan Square, they've also been taking on some slightly smaller residential projects, gobbling up swaths of real estate in the upper Midtown area. Their latest venture is a partnership with Megalith Capital Management to build a new condo tower near Central Park West. Located at 36 West 66th Street, the 292-foot, mid-block building will replace three small office buildings and the synagogue of Congregation Habonim. The latter will be incorporated into the new design, for which CityRealty has uncovered the first rendering and updated details.

Actress Amy Irving re-lists lovely Central Park West co-op for $9M

Actress Amy Irving was nominated for an Academy Award for "Yentl" and a Golden Globe for "Crossing Delancey," but aside from her work on stage and screen, the actress made headlines when divorcing from Steven Speilberg in 1989. At the time, a judge vacated their prenup that had been written on a cocktail napkin, entitling to Irving to half of Speilberg's net worth, or a whopping $100 million. In 2006, she used some of this cash to buy a stunning co-op at 50 Central Park West for $6.9 million. Nine years later, she bought another classic co-op nearby at 75 Central Park West for $8.9 million; the following year, renovations to her apartment sparked a fire in the building that damaged Hank Azaria's unit a few floors above. But now that the reno is presumably done, Irving is trying hard to unload her first Upper West Side property. She first listed it in September 2015 for $11.5 million, but after several price chops, it's now returned for $8,995,000.
