Tyra Banks Lists Nolita Condo for $3.8M

By Annie Doge, Wed, January 7, 2015

225 Lafayette Street, The Spring, Nolita real estate, Tyra Banks

Fashion-forward supermodel Tyra Banks has listed her surprisingly unfashionable Nolita condo for $3.8 million, according to the Daily News. She bought the two-bedroom pad back in 2005 for $2.1 million.

The historic Cass Gilbert-designed Beaux Arts building known as the Spring is located at 225 Lafayette Street and has quite the celebrity following. Actress Dakota Fanning currently resides there, and John Mayer sold his unit there for close to $4 million in 2013. We’re guessing it wasn’t the limelight that persuaded Banks to list, though.

Two Puck Building Penthouses List for a Combined $57M

By Dana Schulz, Wed, October 1, 2014

Puck Penthouses, Puck Building, Jared Kushner, Kushner Properties

It was pretty big news back in June when Penthouse IV at the landmarked Puck Building sold for $28 million, netting real estate tycoon Jared Kushner a pretty penny. It was the second largest out of the six units in the penthouse-only building. As we reported then, there were four others that were yet to be listed, and they were expected to sell for between $21 and $60 million.

Well, it looks like we weren’t too far off the mark, as two additional penthouses at 295 Lafayette Street have now listed for a combined $57 million. PHII, is a three-bedroom, five-bathroom home, with 5,222 square feet of interior space and 800 square feet of outdoor space, listed for $35.1 million; and PHVI, the smallest of the “limited edition” penthouses at 4,895 square feet, is on the market for $22 million (it originally went up for sale in January for $21 million).

211 Elizabeth Street, NoLiTa

From the Boom Boom Room to the Standard and Ace Hotels, acclaimed husband and wife team Robin Standefer and Stephen Alesch — aka, Roman and Williams Buildings and Interiors — infuse plenty of personality into everything they do. And their first ground-up residential project, a seven-story condominium building in the heart of Nolita at 211 Elizabeth Street, was no exception.

Not only did the duo bring their signature character to the building’s actual construction, which garnered the firm a Palladio Award in 2010, they piloted the interior design as well, including every detail of this one-bedroom unit currently on the market for $2 million.

53 Crosby Street, landmarked buildings, mirrored walls

A loft at the landmarked 53 Crosby Street is back on the market after being listed for $3.35 million just a month ago. However, this time the two-bedroom co-op is available for rent, asking $10,500 per month. The unfurnished space reminds us of a dance studio, with its oversized windows, hardwood floors and interesting choice of mirrored walls in the entertaining space. So, we had to take a look inside. What we found is a nicely renovated, modern loft that has everything you would want out of Soho living… including its location on one of the neighborhood’s most coveted cobblestone streets.

Saul Rubinek Sells Nolita Loft for $4.9 Million

By Annie Doge, Tue, August 26, 2014

285 Lafayette Street, Saul Rubinek, Nolita loft

Entertainment jack-of-all-trades Saul Rubinek has unloaded his Nolita loft at 285 Lafayette Street for $4,875,000, according to city records. The Canadian actor, producer, director, and playwright originally listed the three-bedroom unit in May as a $22,000/month rental. The price gradually dropped to $15,000/month by July, but now he’s completely parted ways with the home, selling it for much higher than the $2.95 million he paid in 2011.
