This townhouse at 179 Midwood Street in Prospect Lefferts Gardens was built as a classic limestone residence in 1905, but in 2012, local firm von Dalwig transformed it into a modern, serene family home. Designed by Cetra Ruddy, the eight-story building boasts a masonry facade with copper panel details, a nod to the area’s industrial history. Qualifying New Yorkers earning 130 percent of the area median income can apply for the units, which range from $1,721/month studios to $2,975/month three-bedrooms.

A medical center in Brooklyn will be developed into a mixed-use complex with affordable housing, on-site counseling service, fitness programs, and integrated health care. Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced last week plans to transform the current Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center North Campus, located between Prospect Lefferts Gardens and East Flatbush, into Kingsbrook Estate, a three-building development with 266 units of affordable housing. Designed by Dattner Architects in collaboration with landscape architecture firm terrain, the development falls under the state’s Vital Brooklyn plan, created in 2017 to bring more housing and jobs to the Central Brooklyn area.

Dubbed “PLG,” the 26-story tower at 123 Linden Boulevard sits a few blocks from the southern end of Prospect Park and boasts 50,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenity space. As the tallest building in the neighborhood at 320 feet, PLG offers unobstructed panoramic views of Prospect Park, the Manhattan skyline, and the Verrazano Bridge. Qualifying New Yorkers earning 130 percent of the area median income can apply for the units, which range from $2,156/month studios to $3,122/month three-bedrooms.

The Moinian Group and Bushburg Properties have released interior renderings of the new 26-story tower with 467 rental residences at 123 Linden Boulevard in Brooklyn’s Prospect Lefferts Gardens. The new rental tower, known as PLG, was designed by Hill West Architects and Whitehall Interiors and will offer more than 50,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenity space including indoor and rooftop pools, a lounge, a fitness center with a sauna and steam room, a dog run, a game room, a co-working lounge and a golf simulator. The new building also boasts Downtown Brooklyn, Manhattan and Verrazano Bridge views. Studios start at $2,300/month; one-bedrooms at $2,475/month; two-bedrooms at $3,600/month; and three-bedrooms from $4,500/month; 30 percent of the building’s units will be below-market-rate housing.

After growing up in Rapid City, South Dakota (her father was in the Air Force) Cristiana moved to NYC for grad school in 2006 to study preservation. She quickly became a force in the field, working at Woodlawn Conservancy and Cemetery and lending her expertise and advocacy skills to countless groups across the city. Today, Cristiana also works as a social media strategist, a perfect fit for her creative and snappy personality and natural knack for striking up a conversation. So it comes as no surprise that her pre-war apartment is also full of personal stories. From a mobile that her dad got while deployed in Saudi Arabia to a lobster-shaped wine decanter she found while on a trip to Maine, nearly every eclectic find in Cristiana’s home comes with a childhood memory or a great tidbit about an antiquing outing.
