On the border of Bed-Stuy and Crown Heights, a new rental building at 570 Nostrand Avenue is accepting applications for eight middle-income apartments. The $2,156/month studios, $2,245/month one-bedrooms, and $2,710/month two-bedrooms are available to households earning 130 percent of the area median income. The building has washer/dryers in the units, and is conveniently located to three major subway lines and the LIRR, as well as to all the cool restaurants and bars along Franklin Avenue.
The building has a total of 25 units; those available through the housing lottery were part of the city’s 421-a tax incentive program. At 570 Nostrand, residents will benefit from a virtual doorman and rec room. According to floor plans shown on Housing Connect, the apartments have washer/dryer closets, dishwashers, and ample closet space.
The Nostrand Avenue LIRR stop is just one block away, as is Nostrand Avenue station for the A and C trains. The 2, 3, 4, and 5 trains are a short walk away at Franklin Avenue, close to the Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and Prospect Park.
Qualifying New Yorkers can apply for the affordable units until September 2, 2020. Complete details on how to apply are available here. Questions regarding this offer must be referred to NYC’s Housing Connect department by dialing 311.
