Applications are now being accepted for a 100-spot waitlist for a rental building in Greenpoint. Located at 215 Freeman Street at the foot of the Pulaski Bridge, the building sits near all Manhattan Avenue has to offer, with easy access to Long Island City and beyond via the bridge’s pedestrian path. Qualifying New Yorkers earning 130 percent of the area median income can apply to be placed on the waitlist for the apartments, which include one-bedrooms priced between $2,270 and $2,542 per month and two-bedrooms between $2,733 and $3,063 per month.

The rental is part of a two-building development dubbed Freeman Corner, together containing 55 apartments. Designed by architecture firm Studios C, the buildings blend chic and industrial elements. Residences come in a variety of layouts, all boasting lots of natural light and kitchens with stainless steel appliances and Caesarstone countertops.

Amenities at 215 Freeman include a fitness center and yoga room, on-site laundry, bike storage, and a communal furnished roof deck with skyline views. And neighborhood favorites like Spritzenhaus, Saint Vitus, Troost, and Paulie Gee’s pizzeria are all within walking distance.

Nearest transit options include the G train four blocks away or the 7 train at Court Square. And a roughly 12-minute walk will get you the NYC Ferry stop on India Street.

Qualifying New Yorkers can apply for the affordable units until January 23, 2020. Complete details on how to apply are available here (pdf). Questions regarding this offer must be referred to NYC’s Housing Connect department by dialing 311.

If you don’t qualify for the housing lotteries mentioned, visit CityRealty.com’s no-fee rentals page for other apartment deals in the city.
