Derek Jeter finally finds a buyer for upstate New York ‘castle’

Former New York Yankee Derek Jeter has finally found a buyer for his unique compound in upstate New York. As first reported by Mansion Global, the 50,000-square-foot waterfront estate in Greenwood Lake, known as Tiedemann Castle, sold last week after several years on and off the market. Jeter purchased the property in 2003 and spent 15 years renovating the "castle" before listing it for $14.75 million in 2018. While the final price is not known since it hasn't closed yet, the home at 14 Lake Shore Road was most recently listed for $6.3 million.

The Michelin Guide has added 11 new restaurants to its New York dining guide. Located in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Hudson Valley, the guide's new additions include Little Myanmar, a Burmese restaurant in the East Village, Peppercorn Station, a Szechuan restaurant in Midtown West, and the Apropos Restaurant at the Abbey Inn, a Mediterranean restaurant in Peekskill. No restaurants in the Bronx, Queens, or Staten Island were included in Michelin's latest update, according to Eater New York.

The longtime Westchester home of André Leon Talley, the larger-than-life former Vogue creative director and fashion-world influencer who died in 2022, has just been listed for $1,250,000. According to the New York Times, Talley, who was the first Black creative director at Vogue, considered the White Plains property his "sanctuary" from rough-and-tumble city life. The home is currently owned by an LLC created by the designer–and longtime friend–Diane von Furstenberg to assure that Talley wouldn't lose the property after an ownership dispute. A home on the Bronxville property where President John F. Kennedy once lived has hit the market. The Kennedy family lived on the six-acre estate known as Crownlands from 1929 to 1941. While the residence JFK called home for 12 years was demolished about a decade after the family moved, the property was later subdivided to make way for three new homes, as the New York Post first reported. One of the homes, a renovated 1950s Colonial, is now available for $5,750,000.
