Coming soon: Full-time sun and swimsuit season. Some lucky apartment dwellers count a private pool among their building’s amenities. Otherwise, your local options include public pools or pricey pool clubs and gyms. One way to hack summer in NYC is to snag a day pass to a pool atop one of the city’s trendy hotels. Usually reserved for hotel guests, some hotels allow visitors to pay by the day–often with poolside restaurant and bar privileges. The former Hudson Valley home of American artist Jasper Johns is back on the market with a bigger price tag. The home was originally listed for $600,000 in May, but the buyer was unable to close. The new $750,000 ask "reflects the tremendous demand for the home following its brief time on the market," according to Richard Ellis, owner of Ellis Sotheby's International Realty. Located at 160 West Main Street, the property, built in the 1930s, includes a spacious art studio, a detached garage, and a separate efficiency guest house, surrounded by stone walls and tall grasses that sheltered one of the most influential artists of our time.

Coney Island celebrates 200th birthday by displaying its oldest artifact

Celebrate Coney Island's 200th anniversary by honoring the neighborhood's oldest surviving artifact this weekend. The Coney Island History Project, located at 3059 West 12th Street next to the entrance to Deno's Wonder Wheel Park, is displaying the 200-year-old Coney Island Toll House sign from 1823. The artifact will be on view on Saturday, October 28, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.

A 150-year-old Gothic Revival-style New York home that once belonged to actor Bill Murray is for sale. Built in the late 1860s, the charming four-bedroom abode at 124 Washington Spring Road sits within Snedens Landing, a quiet hamlet in Rockland County known for its many celebrity residents and Revolutionary War history. Murray lived at the home for several years during the 1980s before selling it in 1990, according to the New York Post. The home, known as "The Manse," is asking $2,075,000.

Located at 443 Sail Walk, the aptly named Pyramid House measures 2,100 square feet and has three bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms. As first reported by the New York Post, the Long Island property will cost you $325,000 to rent the modern-style home for the whole summer, or $100,000 for the month of June, $125,000 for July, and $125,000 for August. Fire Island modern ‘Pyramid House’ with a creative past asks $6.5M

When the current owner of this distinctive home at 443 Sail Walk in the wild, windswept Fire Island Pines first saw it, the house reminded him of the I.M. Pei-designed pyramid at the Louvre, transported to the Atlantic shore. As the New York Times recently recounted, real estate agent Glenn Rice toured the house while visiting a friend, and subsequently purchased the mid-century wonder in 2018 for $1.6 million. After furnishing it with his personal collection of items from the 1960s and '70s–he's also a mid-mod furniture dealer–and adding $400k in upgrades, Rice is selling the house for $6.5 million.
