Hudson Yards announced that both Vessel and Edge reopen today. The 150-foot-tall climbable public art piece and the observation deck that’s 1,100 feet in the air (the highest in the Western Hemisphere) have been closed since March, only two days after Edge officially opened to the public. Both attractions will operate at 25 percent capacity and have numerous health and social distancing protocols in place.

Hudson Yards developer Related Companies worked with the Mount Sinai Health System on the best practices for safely reopening.

Vessel will be open daily from 11am to 7pm. The new protocols include:

  • Pre-booked timed tickets with a flexible refund policy
  • Social-distancing markers on the floor and one-way travel
  • Face coverings required
  • Increased cleaning

General admission tickets for Vessel are free and can be booked up to two weeks in advance. Time slots are one hour.

Edge will be open daily from 12pm to 8pm. The new protocols include:

  • Pre-booked timed tickets with a flexible refund policy
  • Temperature screenings
  • Social-distancing markers on the floor and one-way travel
  • Face coverings required
  • Contactless elevators
  • Dual-layer MERV-rated filtration systems that remove airborne particles in all indoor spaces
  • Protective screens at the Box Office, the Beyond the Edge store, and at the Edge Bar
  • Increased cleaning

Tickets for Edge are $36 for adults, $31 for children, and $34 for seniors, and time slots are one hour.

The Equinox Hotel at Hudson Yards is also reopening today. The Shops and Restaurants at Hudson Yards can reopen with 50 percent occupancy starting September 9, according to new state guidelines. Food hall Mercado Little Spain is offering outdoor dining and a new take-out window.

In addition, the “Backyard” at Hudson Yards, which is located in the Public Square & Gardens, is offering daily outdoor programming including fitness classes from Equinox and SoulCycle, live sports viewing events, cinema series, a Blue Bottle coffee cart, seasonal drinks and bites by Rhubarb, and a Van Leeuwen ice cream truck.
