Architect Bjarke Ingels buys Brooklyn Heights penthouse for $2.16M

One of the world's most famous architects has closed on a Brooklyn penthouse he's eyed for years. Denmark-born architect Bjarke Ingels has purchased a penthouse in the St. George Tower in Brooklyn Heights for $2,163,525, as reported by the New York Post and confirmed by property records. The apartment, located on the 29th and 30th floors at 111 Hicks Street, has been on the market since 2010 when it was listed for $2,490,000.

Alexander Skarsgård lists his top-floor East Village co-op for $2.6M

Actor Alexander Skarsgård has just listed his top-floor townhouse co-op at 119 East 10th Street for $2,599,000, roughly $300,000 more than he paid in 2017 for the East Village apartment, which once belonged to actress Parker Posey (Chloe Sevigny also lived in the same building before heading to Brooklyn in 2013). The Emmy-nominated star of “Big Little Lies” and “True Blood" oversaw a thorough renovation of the loft-like one-bedroom home, giving its pre-war details and wood-beamed ceilings a careful upgrade, a renovated kitchen, and more (h/t Architectural Digest).

Janet Jackson has decided to part ways with her Upper West Side apartment, which she recently listed for $8,995,000, as the Wall Street Journal first reported. The younger Jackson sibling has owned the three-bedroom condo in the Trump International Hotel and Tower at 1 Central Park West for almost 25 years; she purchased the 34th-floor unit in the gleaming tower overlooking Central Park for $2.8 million in 1998.

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen’s $18M Nolita home finds buyer

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen have sold their two penthouses in Nolita, CityRealty first reported. The over 6,100-square-foot, six-bedroom spread is located at 374 Broome Street, a landmarked six-story former carriage house converted in 2005 into a nine-unit condominium. The couple listed the two apartments, which occupy the full sixth floor and half of the fifth floor, in January for $18 million.

Ralph Lauren picks up $4M co-op in his UES building of 40 years

Ralph Lauren and his wife Ricky have bought a second apartment in the same Upper East Side building where the couple has lived for the past four decades. As first reported by the New York Post and confirmed by property records, the fashion designer paid $4,000,000 for a co-op at 1107 Fifth Avenue, a 14-story building on the corner of East 92nd Street in the Carnegie Hill Historic District.

Gloria Vanderbilt’s childhood home on the UES has sold for $32.2M

After hitting the market for $50 million in 2019, the seven-story Gilded-Age Upper East Side townhouse where late socialite Gloria Vanderbilt lived as a child has sold for $32.2 million. According to the New York Post, a group of Russian investors bought the 27-foot-wide mansion for $19 million in 2014 with plans to transform the property into three separate condo units and sell for $70 million. The investors sold the home at 39 East 72nd Street to an unknown buyer using an LLC, according to the newspaper.

Jersey rocker Jon Bon Jovi put his Greenwich Village apartment on the market this week for $22,000,000, the Wall Street Journal first reported. The four-bedroom home sits on a high floor of The Greenwich Lane, a condominium located at 155 West 11th Street, and has panoramic views of Downtown Manhattan and direct elevator access. The couple purchased a $9 million unit in 2018 followed by a $7.7 million penthouse in 2020 in the six-story Brewster Carriage House at 374 Broome Street. The A-list duo told the WSJ they wanted to combine the two apartments into one but never did.

On the outside, the tidy black-shuttered single-family townhouse at 248 East 68th Street in Lenox Hill is one in a cheerful historic row, built in 1881 by a developer who sought charm instead of monotony. The home is being sold for $6.5 million by the estate of the late Broadway producer Isobel Robins Konecky and her husband, entertainment attorney Ronald Konecky. The couple lived in the house since the 1970s, renovated it in 2006, and created a home with every modern comfort. In doing so they added even more charm to the four-story, four-bedroom home, where they hosted family, friends, and clients, including Walter Cronkite, Roone Arledge, Barbara Walters, and Frank Gifford.

Actor Penn Badgley has moved to Park Slope. Known for his roles in Gossip Girl and most recently, Netflix's You, Badgley paid $1,825,000 for a corner three-bedroom, two-bath at 140 Eighth Avenue, a 1930s co-op located just a block from Prospect Park. As first reported by real estate gossip blog Dirt, and confirmed by property records, the actor and his wife, musician Domino Kirke, paid $100,000 over the asking price.

This classic loft studio in the landmarked building at 1 Bond Street was, for 23 years, the home of actor Anthony Rapp, who played the leading role of Mark Cohen in the Broadway hit "Rent," as well as in the film version. The actor, who had lived in an East Village walk-up much like the ones featured in the play, purchased the downtown loft 23 years ago for $375,000 saved from his burgeoning acting career. After 30+ years, Andy Warhol’s art director lists Noho penthouse for $6M

Marc Balet was the longtime art director for Andy Warhol's Interview Magazine, as well as for his talk show 15 Minutes that aired on MTV from 1985 to 1987. Around this same time, in the late '80s, he purchased a three-floor loft at 620 Broadway in Noho that was used as a dance studio. He transformed it into a beautiful, light-filled live-work home, even calling on his friend Fran Lebowitz to have her father, who owned a furniture store, create custom curtains for the 17-foot-tall space. The window treatments remain today, as do many other personal mementos, including lava lamps gifted by Pee-Wee Herman and a huge wall of celebrity photographs. Balet has now decided to put the home on the market for $5,995,000 and considering it also has an incredible amount of outdoor space, it's a place not to be missed.

Over the summer, rapper Travis Scott was renting this massive Greenwich Village townhouse at 80 Washington Place, where his girlfriend Kylie Jenner, who's pregnant with the couple's second child, would come to stay. The home was designed by the firm Clodagh, and it's a whopping 8,700 square feet spread across six stories. There are six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a custom glass elevator, roof deck, backyard with an outdoor kitchen, terrace hot tub, and a wine cellar and tasting lounge. Another fun fact? The home was once owned by composer John Philip Sousa, known for his famous military marches. It's now hit the market for $26.5 million.
