You'd assume this gorgeous estate in Water Mill dates back to the 19th-century, but it was actually constructed in 2001 and was inspired by the designs of famed architect Richard Morris Hunt. Known for bringing his French Beaux-Arts style to America in the 1800s, Hunt is best known for the facade of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty, and several of the grand homes in Newport. This modern interpretation in the Hamptons is on the market for $11,950,000. Located at 767 Montauk Highway in Quiogue, the Arts and Crafts-style home measures 9,000 square feet, contains eight bedrooms and seven-and-a-half baths, and overlooks the serene Quantuck Bay. Dubbed Meadowcroft, the 7-acre estate is "an extraordinary example of the holistic approach to the joining of landscape and built form," as the listing describes.

As first reported by the New York Post, the cedar-shingled home was reimagined in 2004 by late architect Jacque Robertson. 340-year-old East Hampton home reimagined with a modernist design asks $4.5M

An East Hampton Village home with roots dating back to the 17th-century is on the market for $4.495 million. The property at 177 Main Street was originally a Colonial saltbox built in 1680 and owned by John Mulford, one of the founders of the village. The home was named Congress Hall in the mid-19th-century as then-owner David Mulford used the space for local men to gather and talk about politics. After the site sold in 2012, owners transformed the property into a 5,500-square-foot compound with five bedrooms and five-and-a-half baths.

In 1998, the same year she began her breakout role in Sex and the City, actress Kim Cattrall bought this East Hampton home for just $450,000, according to the New York Times, who first reported that it's now been listed for $3,250,000. The shingled home is a lovely mix of casual beach house and contemporary design, and the property also has a detached studio. "I thought about selling the property after my divorce in 2004," Cattrall told the Times, "but I just couldn’t — 22 years later, it’s time."

The future home for the New York Islanders hockey team has a name. Wealth management service UBS last week secured a 20-year naming rights agreement for the new sports and entertainment venue in Nassau County. The UBS Arena at Belmont Park is expected to open for the Islanders' 2021-2022 season, with the team returning to Long Island after playing home games at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn since 2015.

Billionaire art collector drops price of Montauk estate to $15.5M

Billionaire investor, art collector, and gallery owner Adam Lindemann has dropped the price of his Montauk mansion to $15.5 million. He originally listed the sprawling property in 2015 for $29.5 million. Earlier that same year, Lindemann bought another nearby property that had once belonged to Andy Warhol and was listed for $85 million. His "smaller" estate is a 7,500-square-foot, traditional wood-shingled estate that sits atop the Montauk bluffs. In addition to its incredible shoreline views and three-acre lot, the home was renovated by architect David Adjaye. The interiors are fabulous, and the grounds boast a large heated pool and jacuzzi, several covered and uncovered patios, and a private staircase leading down to a secluded cove. With Long Island and Hudson Valley cleared to reopen, MTA boosts train service

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is boosting service on the Long Island Rail Road and the Metro-North as two more New York regions are officially cleared to start reopening. The Hudson Vallery region and Long Island have met the state's metrics to begin reopening phase one businesses, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said this week. Starting Wednesday, the MTA will increase capacity by 26 percent on Metro-North with 18 additional trains during peak service, as well as add 105 Long Island Railroad cars to meet restored demand for service.

As was first reported by the Wall Street Journal, the historic home in the Hamptons where Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis spent her childhood summers has hit the market for $7.5 million. Known as Wildmoor, the home was built in 1865 and was owned by Jackie's grandfather John Vernou Bouvier Jr. in the early 1900s. By the time Jackie was a child in the 1930s, her grandparents had bought an even more impressive East Hampton home called Lasata, which left Wildmoor free for Jackie and her parents when they left Park Avenue for the Hamptons during the summer.

$45M oceanfront estate is the priciest sale in the Hamptons since 2016

Mansion Global reports that the sprawling oceanfront estate at 26 and 32 Windmill Lane in East Hampton has closed for $45 million, as per sources close to the deal. Though they can't confirm the final sale price, Douglas Elliman does tell us that it's the most expensive sale in the Hamptons since 2016. The 6.7-acre property, which was listed for $60 million in July and most recently for $55 million, was built in 1989 for former Union Pacific president and chairman James Evans. There's a massive main house with beautiful beachy interiors and tons of outdoor space including a 50-foot pool, as well as a separate guest house.
