Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards unloads Washington Square penthouse at a loss

It was only four years ago that Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards and his wife, model Patti Hansen, bought the penthouse at celeb-filled 1 Fifth Avenue for $10.5 million. Two years later, after an overhaul by architect Joe Serrins, the rock legend listed the Greenwich Village spread for $12.23 million. But as it goes, "You Can't Always Get What You Want," and in October 2017 he dropped the price to $12 million even and brought it celebrity stager Cheryl Eisen. The price continued to decline, dropping to $11 million this past November, and most recently $9.95 million. Now, the Observer reports that it's gone into contract, meaning he more than likely took a loss.

Tommy Hilfiger again drops price of his Plaza Hotel penthouse to $50M

After making several attempts to sell his pad, fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger is relisting his lavish penthouse apartment in the Plaza for $50 million. Hilfiger and his wife, Dee Ocleepo, first listed the apartment at 1 Central Park South in 2013 for $80 million. After dropping to $75 million in March 2015 and then $69 million, the most recent relisting had the property on the market for $58.9 million in April (h/t Mansion Global). The couple paid roughly $20 million in renovations for the 5,600-square-foot duplex, which features marble-clad rooms, vintage limestone fireplaces from England and a domed room that features a custom-designed “Elouise” mural designed by the children book’s illustrator Hilary Knight.

Over-the-top Upper East Side maisonette is back on the market for $19M

Well within the gracious walls of 135 East 79th Street, one of the Upper East Side's most coveted–and expensive–condominiums, this nearly 5,000-square-foot elevator duplex is for all intents a townhouse that feels like a penthouse. Except it's a maisonette, complete with separate street entrance and backyard. It’s also a condo, with access to the top-notch amenities one would expect from a recent big-ticket Carnegie Hill development.
