Found at 320 Central Park West in the Ardsley, one of the city's most notable Art Deco residential towers, the duplex includes four bedrooms, three and a half baths, and 2,500 square feet of terraces. The "EGOT" winner moved to the building in 1963 and remained there for over 30 years, according to the New York Times.

Yankees legend David Cone relists Greenwich Village apartment for a reduced $9.9M

Former Yankee pitcher and current commentator David Cone—known for the perfect game he threw in 1999—has just relisted his Greenwich Village apartment at 160 West 12th Street for a slightly reduced $9,900,000, the New York Post reports. Cone scored the four-bedroom pad back in 2016 for $8,130,000 and first listed it in 2017 for $10,500,000. The 2,818-square-foot, floor-through unit is part of the amenity-filled Greenwich Lane, a redevelopment of the historic St. Vincent's Hospital Campus designed by FXCollaborative.

Marc Jacobs lists Robert A.M. Stern-designed West Village townhouse for $16M

Shortly after purchasing a Frank Lloyd Wright-designed home in the New York suburb of Rye, designer Marc Jacobs has put his West Village townhouse on the market for $15,996,000, as the Wall Street Journal first reported. Jacobs is looking to downsize in Manhattan as he prepares to split his time between New York City and Rye. The three-bedroom townhouse at 68 Bethune Street is part of the Superior Ink condominium project designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects in the late 2000s. Property records show that Jacobs bought the residence for $10.495 million in 2009.

To facilitate their liaisons, a secret passage linking the two apartments was created, though it’s not clear from the listing if current residents will have access to it. Fashion designer Marc Jacobs has purchased a Westchester home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for $9.175 million, the Wall Street Journal reported Monday. Located in the wealthy Westchester County neighborhood of Rye, the home was built by Wright in 1955 for European car importer Max Hoffman. Located at the tip of North Manursing Island, the waterfront property will serve as a weekend retreat for Jacobs and his husband Char Defrancesco, who recently wed this month.

Newly modernized, Irving Berlin’s former Yorkville penthouse is back for a reduced $4M

American songwriter Irving Berlin moved into the duplex at 130 East End Avenue—an Emory Roth-designed co-op in Yorkville right across from Carl Schurz Park— in 1931, where he went on to write hits like “I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm” and “Say It Isn’t So.” As Berlin’s biographer Laurence Bergreen described, the formal residence featured antiques and floor-to-ceiling bookshelves that “quietly suggested the home of [a] wealthy, cultivated businessman possessed of exacting, if severe, taste.” Though the Berlin’s moved out in 1944, the stately residence with East River views retained it’s formal decor when the unit last hit the market in 2017 for $7,900,000. Over the past two years, the apartment has undergone a modern renovation and is back seeking a much reduced $3,995,000.

50 Cent finally unloads 52-room Connecticut compound for $2.9M

Twelve years later, the massive Connecticut mansion owned by rapper-actor 50 Cent has finally sold. According to the Wall Street Journal, the musician's mansion in Farmington sold for $2.9 million, 84 percent less than the $18.5 million he first sought in 2007. Most recently, the 17-acre estate was listed for just under $5 million. The home stretches 50,000 square feet and is decked out with 19 bedrooms, 35 bathrooms, its own night club, basketball court, movie theater, and G Unit-themed decor throughout.

Michael Chow, founder of the Mr. Chow restaurant chain, has just put his Dumbo penthouse on the market for $6,495,000. It seems the restaurateur is moving to the West Coast, as earlier this month Chow and his wife bought two Los Angeles properties from pop star Katy Perry, as Mansion Global reported. Chow bought his three-bedroom duplex at 1 John Street in 2016 for $5,760,000. The modern abode spans across 2,600 square-feet and is one of four homes in the 42-unit building to have a private courtyard and a private roof terrace. Doris Roberts’ former Central Park South duplex sells for $4M

Back in 2017, 6sqft reported that the duplex co-op at 200 Central Park South owned by the late Emmy-winning actress Doris Roberts (you probably know her best as Marie Barone from “Everybody Loves Raymond”) had been listed for $3.3 million. Now the New York Post reports that the two-bedroom duplex has sold for $4 million. The sale included the two apartments owned by Roberts' estate, plus an adjacent one-bedroom. The buyer, a Broadway producer, plans to combine the apartments into one big duplex within walking distance to the theater district.

Fashion designer Cynthia Rowley’s West Village showroom-townhouse sells for over $14M

Fashion designer Cynthia Rowley has found a buyer for her three-story townhouse in the West Village. The buyer paid more than $14 million for the property at 16 Morton Street and plans to use the 25-foot-wide home to house a luxury car collection, the Wall Street Journal reported. The townhouse was first listed last April for $17.5 million; Rowley lowered the price to just under $16 million last fall.

The apartment that was home to "Dreamgirls" Oscar winner and singer Jennifer Hudson from 2015 to 2016 just hit the market for $7.9 million, the Post reports. The 3,000 square-foot 11th floor unit in the elegant Upper West Side residence at 2211 Broadway was on the rental market in 2016 for a suitably diva-esque $21,000 a month, as 6sqft reported. The gut-renovated four-bedroom condo has plenty of star power on its own, starting with a marble entryway, a formal dining room and multiple fireplaces.

Emily Ratajkowski and millionaire hubby live rent free thanks to city’s loft law, Noho landlord says

There have been a lot of discussions recently about the city's lack of affordable living space causing artists to flee the city, and about the relevance of regulations like the Loft Law, created to allow artists to live in neighborhoods like Noho and Soho. The New York Post now brings us the case of millionaire movie producer Sebastian Bear-McClard, 31, and his wife, model/actress Emily Ratajkowski, 27. The pair is reportedly living rent-free in a sprawling Noho loft at 49 Bleecker Street. The pair's landlord, of course, isn't happy with the fact that Bear-McClard, who is apparently worth an estimated $12 million, has been claiming protection under the state's Loft Law since 2017, to the tune of $120,000

The Olsen twins love real estate almost as much as they love smokey eye shadow. Before Mary-Kate married French banker Olivier Sarkozy in 2015, the couple spent some time in the East Village. Sarkozy purchased the Anglo-Italianate townhome at 123 East 10th Street in 2012 for $6.25 million. However, the lovebirds never moved in; instead, they rented the similar house next door at 125 East 10th Street from 2012 until they purchased and moved into an equally grand townhouse in Turtle Bay in 2014. The Post now reports that the neighboring East Village homes have once again come onto the market, this time with the option to combine them for one $16 million mansion.

In 1959, Truman lived in Brooklyn Heights around the corner from 13 Pineapple Street, a Federal-era home that inspired him to write the following lines: “Cheerfully austere, as elegant and other-era as formal calling cards, these houses bespeak an age of able servants and solid fireside ease; of horses in musical harness,” as 6sqft previously noted.
