Stunning…Exquisite…Classic…We’re Running Out of Adjectives for this $16M Brooklyn Heights Townhouse

We have never been more thankful for the phrase "a picture is worth a thousand words." And though we may have expressed this sentiment before when bringing you other properties, we are pretty sure our words for this $16,000,000 townhouse at 192 Columbia Heights may fall a wee bit short. Fortunately, we have lots of lovely photos in our gallery to ensure you are properly astonished. We had our pick of beautiful Brooklyn residences to share with you today, but this one called to us. It wasn't a "Pick me, pick me!" kind of calling, but more of a "Could this home be anymore beautiful?" type of calling. In our humble opinion the answer is "no."

14 New Designs Proposed for Brooklyn Bridge Park Project – BIG, Asymptote and FXFOWLE on the Roster

The city has just received 14 new design proposals for the two remaining housing developments on the southern edge of Brooklyn Bridge Park, a site that has been the focus of a contentious affordable housing debate; namely whether such units should be added to the coveted waterfront site. According to the Wall Street Journal, the Brooklyn Bridge Park Corp., which runs the park, will discuss the new proposals in a meeting today.

Studio Modh Transforms Former Servants’ Quarters Into a Modern Light-Filled Space

Back in the day, in even the most luxurious of homes, sleeping quarters reserved for servants weren't much more than cramped, musty spaces that lacked light. Though the top floor of this landmarked Brooklyn Heights mansion probably hasn't seen a feather duster in years (a Dyson, maybe) this newly renovated space is anything but dim and dank. A total revamp undertaken by Studio Modh Archtecture, this modern apartment is the seamless fusion of two formerly disparate spaces that have been reconfigured to create a bright, beautiful and serene home.

Former Warner Music Co-Chairman Michael Fleisher Sells Brooklyn Heights Town Home for $6.4M

Wayfair CFO and apparent fan of extramarital endeavors, Michael Fleisher has sold his Brooklyn Heights town home, and for 6.4 million according to city records. The former Warner Music co-chairman listed the home at 273 Hicks Street five months ago with Corcoran agents James Cornell and Leslie Marshall, asking a staggering $6.95 million. After two months, he reduced the asking price to $6.495 million before finally settling in at a sale price of $6.4 million.

A Tree Grows In Brooklyn: $3.18M Historic Brooklyn Heights Town Home Has a Garden

Someone just purchased a nice little income property in Brooklyn Heights, according to city records. This 4-family town home, located at 36 Schermerhorn Street, is an original 1840s brownstone in one of Brooklyn’s premier locations. It offers 3,000 square feet of living space and a garden for the lower duplex. Yes, a tree grows in Brooklyn. However, the best part of this unit, listed by Corcoran’s Vicki Negron, is that it already has tenants. Granted their lease expires in August, but minor details.

Light-Filled Greek Revival Townhouse in Brooklyn Heights Finds a Buyer for $6.8M

Brooklyn Heights is one of the city's most coveted neighborhoods, and it's no wonder why. With its beautiful tree-lined streets, historic architecture, and that certain light which seems to bring a calm and peace to the streets, it's managed to draw everyone from best-selling authors to bankers to even Hollywood starlets. The latest and most notable sale for BK nabe is 19 Monroe, which just sold for $6.8 million through a listing held by Yolanda Johnson at Corcoran. The property hit the market back in March for $7.3 million, and while the interiors were admired by many, the ask made more than a few jaw drops. But let's not forget that this is NYC, and it never hurts to be overly ambitious...

The Heights: One of Brooklyn’s Most Talked About Condominiums is Sold Out

The Heights is sold out! According to city records, the penthouse, and last available unit of the Brooklyn Heights condominium, has officially sold for $4.95 million. This extraordinary apartment at 30 Henry Street, listed by Corcoran Group's Deborah Rieders, touts one of the most expensive prices in Brooklyn, at approximately $1,730 per square foot. Getting a glimpse into this apartment is like trying to spot a rare bird, but from what we’ve gleaned, it’s pretty splendid. The luxury building replaced the home of the Brooklyn Daily Eagle, and has been the subject of a lot of speculation from the day the filings were discovered. At one point it was rumored that BKSK Architects was planning for the building to have a waterfall! From what we can see, it appears the waterfall ultimately became a fountain in the courtyard but hey, what’s a legend if not the subject of grandeur?

Decorative Brooklyn Heights Brownstone Closes for $7 Million

A beautiful, Italianate brownstone at 37 Remsen Street in the Brooklyn Heights Historic District sold for $7 million through a listing held by Brown Harris Stevens. It was originally listed for $6.2 million when it went on the market in January. The buyer is Jeremiah T. Healey, former Jersey City Mayor from 2004-2013, and his wife Megan McKee Healey, a tax law professor at NYU. Built in 1899, the 25-foot-wide, 7,000-square-foot home retains a wealth of historic details including fanlight windows, cast iron vent covers, etched pocket doors, and wood-paneled chair rails. The decorative elements such as ceiling medallions, painted borders, and fancy ceiling moldings were likely to the taste of the previous owner, but they certainly add a bit of whimsy to the classical home.
