Move-ins started just a month ago at the new Brooklyn rental 10 Lexington Avenue, and now the lottery is opening for 17 $1,015/month one-bedrooms apartments in the building in the up-and-coming, post-industrial pocket between Clinton Hill and Bedford-Stuyvesant. According to the building website, all units have private outdoor space and amenities include a roof deck, courtyard, laundry room, fitness center, and lounge.

The 82-unit building was designed by STUDIOSC Architects, who previously said their goal was to “create a visual statement that is both elegant in its proportions and responsive to the surrounding area.”

Interiors feature oversized windows, high ceilings, recessed lighting with dimmers, individual climate control, and hardwood floors. Kitchens have granite islands, marble backsplashes, and touch-activated faucets.

Qualifying New Yorkers can apply for the affordable apartments until October 30, 2017. Residents of Brooklyn Community Board 2 will be given preference for 50 percent of the units. Complete details on how to apply are available here (pdf). Questions regarding this offer must be referred to NYC’s Housing Connect department by dialing 311.
