If you think you have to wait till the warmer months to enjoy skyline views from on high at any of the city’s many rooftop drinking establishments, think again. Popular Nomad boîte 230 Fifth returns this winter with a chill-out idea that keeps out the literal chill: The transparent rooftop igloo.

230 Fifth Avenue - New York, NY

Sip bubbly or seasonal cocktails like spiced whiskey martinis and rum-spiked hot apple cider with seven of your closest pals in a see-through PVC bubble tent. The bubbles atop what claims to be the city’s “largest outdoor rooftop garden and fully enclosed penthouse lounge,” look like a great way to pretend you’re glamping while taking in the city lights. You might want to show up early, though, as the tents are first-come, first-served, and as far as we know there’s no VIP igloo.
