Applications are now being accepted for 44 mixed-income apartments at a new rental project near Fordham University in the Bronx. Developed by the BronxPro Group, Cyrus Place Apartments is an eight-story mixed-use, energy-efficient building designed to meet Passive House standards. New Yorkers earning 30, 40, 50, 70, and 80 percent of the area median income are eligible to apply for the apartments, which range from $410/month studios to $2,037/month three-bedroom units.

Designed by Curtis + Ginsberg Architects, the property offers its tenants a variety of amenities, including a residential terrace with a playground and garden, gym, bicycle storage room, and on-site laundry room. The first floor features nearly 9,500 square feet of retail space.

The building aims to promote healthy living conditions through its Passive House certification and active design.

Located between East 188th Street and Cyrus Place at 4697 Third Avenue, Cyrus Place Apartments sits just south of Fordham University and near the Bronx’s Little Italy. The property is easily accessible by public transportation, situated near the B and D subway lines, as well as several buses.

Qualifying New Yorkers can apply for the units until March 16, 2022. Fifty percent of the units will be set aside for residents of Bronx Community Board 6. Five percent of the units are designated for residents with mobility impairments and two percent for those with hearing and visual impairments. The building will include a section of deeply affordable units for formerly homeless New Yorkers.

Complete details on how to apply are available here. Questions regarding this offer must be referred to NYC’s Housing Connect department by dialing 311.
