A 23.5-foot wide townhouse in Tribeca that underwent a top-to-bottom luxury renovation hit the market on Thursday for $39,995,000. The brick-and-limestone home at 145 Reade Street offers more than 10,600 square feet across six floors, along with multiple outdoor spaces, including a rooftop terrace with a swimming pool.

As the Wall Street Journal reported, the sellers of the home are real estate investor Lucky Bhalla and his wife Laura. The couple purchased the home for $1.5 million in 2003 and spent several years renovating the building so thoroughly to the point that nothing original of the 1910-constructed home remains today.

The entry foyer features a dramatic sweeping staircase and ceiling heights of up to 24 feet.

Across the first and second floors are the main living and dining areas. The eat-in chef’s kitchen has an oversized Lacanche stove, a fireplace, and a built-in banquet. There’s also direct access to the ground floor patio from the kitchen.

Up one level, you’ll find the formal living room and an elegant circular dining room. The living room boasts a marble fireplace and French doors that open onto a Juliet balcony. Next to the formal dining room, which has custom lacquered walls, there’s a butler’s pantry and a powder room.

Taking up the entirety of the third floor, the primary suite includes a bedroom with a fireplace and balcony access and a lavish bathroom decked out in floor-to-ceiling custom marble mosaic tile. The luxurious bath also features a soaking tub and a fireplace. On the fourth floor, there are two additional bedrooms, both with en-suite baths and plenty of closet space.

A double-height paneled library and separate wet bar take up the home’s faith floor, along with one bedroom with an en-suite bath.

Adding to its palatial size, the townhouse’s outdoor space measures 1,200 square feet, including two top-floor terraces. The front rooftop patio is home to a 17-foot-long heated pool, while the rear features a full kitchen and lounge area. An indoor sitting room with a bathroom sits between the two.

“We built a house that you never had to leave,” Laura Bhalla told the Wall Street Journal. The couple is selling the home because they are moving to Miami, according to the newspaper.

Additionally, the home has a gym, cinema room, laundry room, den, and wine storage in the basement.
