If you’re bored with all the standard seating options out there, this Carpet Chair will certainly perk you up. From Cyprus-based designer Stelios Mousarris, the wave-like furniture doubles as an optical illusion, taking on the form of a floating magic carpet, but functioning as a sturdy chair.
The limited-edition design was made in collaboration with artist Jan Blythe and first released in 2015. Made from actual Persian carpets, the structure of the chair is secured with steel reinforcements to help achieve the illusion of floating. Its design can be customized by size and color, but it’ll cost you about $13,000.
