See the 17-story mixed-use rental coming to Atlantic Avenue in Bed-Stuy

Another high-rise residential tower is coming to Brooklyn's once-industrial Atlantic Avenue corridor. Douglaston Development on Wednesday announced it secured financing for a 17-story, 474,000-square-foot mixed-use development at 1057 Atlantic Avenue in Bed-Stuy that will include 456 rental apartments and new neighborhood amenities. The tower joins several new and proposed developments on this strip of Atlantic Avenue that will bring hundreds of new homes to the area.

Lottery opens for 235 mixed-income units at new Hudson Yards high-rise, from $690/month

Manhattan's largest rental development under construction launched a housing lottery this week for 235 mixed-income apartments. Located slightly south of Hudson Yards at 601 West 29th Street, the 60-story luxury high-rise is part of a two-building development known as 3ELEVEN. Developed by Douglaston Development and designed by FXCollaborative, the massive project includes 938 total apartments and more than 50,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenities. Qualifying New Yorkers earning 40, 60, and 100 percent of the area median income can apply for the units, ranging from $690/month studios to $2,342/month two-bedrooms.

See the 900-unit affordable complex designed by Adjaye Associates coming to East Flatbush

A 900 unit affordable housing complex with public green space and community amenities is coming to Brooklyn's East Flatbush neighborhood. Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Friday announced the state selected the proposal to redevelop 7.2 acres of the Kingsboro Psychiatric Center Campus following a request for proposals last summer. Designed by Sir David Adjaye's Adjaye Associates and Studio Zewde, the $400 million project includes affordable and supportive housing, senior housing, opportunities for homeownership, and two new homeless shelters that will replace existing, outdated ones.

Lower East Side bialy bakery Kossar’s will open a second location in Hudson Yards

Since 1936, Kossar's Bagels & Bialys has served Jewish specialty foods on the Lower East Side. For the first time, the iconic shop, considered the oldest bialy bakery in the United States, will open a second location in New York City. The bakery has signed a 1,200-square-foot lease on the ground floor of Ohm, a mixed-income rental building at 312 11th Avenue in Hudson Yards developed by Douglaston Development.

NY Botanical Garden and Douglaston reach deal on ground leases at Bronx affordable housing project

Plans to bring hundreds of new affordable apartments for seniors and low-income families in the Bronx are moving forward. The New York Botanical Garden and Douglaston Development this week closed on two separate 99-year ground leases at 2856 Webster Avenue and 410 Bedford Park Boulevard, which will hold a two-building, 100 percent affordable development. Located just a block from the Botanical Garden, the project includes a new 12,000-square-foot Cherry Valley Marketplace store on the ground floor. The existing Cherry Valley grocery store, located at the site of the project, will remain open throughout construction.

450-unit affordable housing development planned for New York Botanical Garden property

A two-building development with 450 affordable housing units will be constructed on property owned by the New York Botanical Garden, developers announced Tuesday. Douglaston Development has entered a 99-year lease with NYBG for a lot on Webster Avenue and Bedford Park Boulevard, located about a block from the 250-acre garden.

Affordable senior housing lottery launches at Staten Island’s Seaview Site C in Todt Hill

New York City Seniors now have more options in the five boroughs as the lottery launches today for Staten Island's Seaview Site C, comprised of 160 newly-constructed units at 155-175 Friendship Lane in the Todt Hill neighborhood. The Douglaston Development project is exclusively for low-income senior citizens and consists of 82 studios, 78 one-bedroom apartments, and a resident manager’s unit. Amenities include an indoor common area, outdoor patio, laundry room, and on-site parking.
