Smorgasburg has unveiled its lineup of vendors ahead of its return next month, kicking off its 16th season the first weekend in April. The beloved outdoor food market will host 74 vendors, including 22 making their Smorasburg debut. The market opens in Williamsburg’s Marsha P. Johnson State Park on Saturday, April 4, followed by Prospect Park’s Breeze Hill on Sunday.

“As we enter our 16th season, we’re constantly inspired by the next generation of food entrepreneurs who see Smorgasburg as a place to share their culture, creativity and ambition,” Gaston Becherano, CEO and owner of Smorgasburg, said.

“Our vendors are the heartbeat of this market. They represent the diversity, hustle and innovation that define New York’s food scene.”

This year’s vendor roster reflects New York’s evolving tastes and cultural diversity. Nearly half of the newcomers are immigrant-founded or built on multigenerational family recipes, each bringing their own stories and traditions to the market.

New vendors include 82 Bowl, a Korean BBQ concept inspired by backyard grilling traditions; Ambo, which reimagines everyday Indian comfort food; Bingsoo, serving ultra-fine, snow-like Korean shaved ice; and Bom Bae, channeling the vibrancy of Mumbai street food.

Other newcomers include Chenzi, bringing Fuzhounese street food to the market; Kloachi Rolls, offering flavors from Karachi; Secondz, serving oversized flaky puffs and bao buns with Southeast Asian fillings; and Jimchi, featuring Korean street food like tteokbokki and dakgangjeong.

Colombian cuisine is well represented among the new vendors. Garoso Colombian Bakery puts a street-food spin on classics like buñuelos rellenos and bandeja paisa, while Palenque Empanadas & Arepas focuses on traditional comfort staples made simply and authentically.

Its sister concept, Palenque Parrilla “Brasa,” highlights Colombian-style grilled meats with classic asado flavors, and The Aborrajao celebrates Afro-Colombian roots through its signature cheese-stuffed fried sweet plantains.

Humos BBQ NY serves live-fire fusion barbecue, while Rogers Burgers, a Flatbush favorite featured in The New York Times and Grub Street, blends American smash burgers with Caribbean flavors. Nano Burger brings a modern smashburger to the marketplace.

Capping off the new vendors are Tacos Taurinos, serving authentic Mexico City–style tacos; The Pupusas Spot, offering handmade Salvadoran pupusas, yuca con chicharrón, and pan con pollo; The Purple Cup, with unique Brazilian-inspired items; and Pizza Fantastica, serving wood-fired Neapolitan pies. Plant-based tacos come from the award-winning Vegana Taqueria, while cult favorite Pretty Horse Workers Cooperative returns with its beloved chicken Caesar wrap.

These new vendors join Smorgasburg’s 52 returning favorites, including Red Hook Lobster Pound, Raclette Street, Mao’s Bao, Cafecito Social, and Yakitori Tatsu.

Both Smorgasburg locations will operate weekly from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. through October, with the Williamsburg outpost open on Saturdays and the Prospect Park location on Sundays. The market also runs at the World Trade Center on Fridays, but no opening date has been announced yet.

The seasonal sister market, Brooklyn Flea, opens under the Manhattan Bridge in Dumbo on Saturday, March 14, with lots of vintage finds and independent designs to be had.

As 6sqft previously reported, Smorgasburg is also opening a restaurant on Governors Island this spring. Replacing Island Oyster, Six Coasts will open in a 32,000-square-foot waterfront space and offer food and drinks inspired by “six coastal identities across the Americas.” The new spot is expected to open in May.
