Roy Lichtenstein’s former Nomad loft hits the market for $4.5M

The former Nomad loft of late pop-art artist Roy Lichtenstein is for sale, asking $4.5 million. Lichtenstein, who was a native of New York City, lived at the four-bedroom home at 105 East 29th Street from 1984 to 1988. Located on the eighth floor, the sprawling space measures 3,200 square feet and features four exposures from 19 windows. As 6sqft reported last year, Lichtenstein's son Mitchell listed a home in the Greenwich Village Historic District for $25 million; today it's back on the market for just under $20 million.

Rowley first picked up the West Village home for $10.99 million in 2014, according to the New York Post. We're not sure if it's a "mysterious nexus of art, history, whimsy and amazing craftsmanship where to think of living there was to reduce the miraculous to the mundane," but as far as loft condos go, it's a pretty fly pad. Starting with a private entrance and private indoor parking space, the three bedrooms and remarkable living spaces in this landmarked Grabler Building home are definitely worth a look.

Though Heidi Klum has spent summers renting a New York City pad and even checked out Bon Jovi's pricey penthouse, the supermodel and TV personality was LA-based until recently. The Post reports that Klum just closed on a 4,772-square-foot Soho penthouse loft at 515 Broadway for $5.1 million. Purchased under the name “HK East Coast LLC,” the loft, in a 19th century Queen Anne-style building also known as 84 Mercer Street, is a former artist's studio, though it's exempt from Artist Certification requirements. The totally raw space is in need of just about everything.
