A housing lottery launched this week for 91 middle-income apartments at a new residential development in Long Island City. Located at 43-14 Queens Street in the neighborhood’s Court Square section, the 19-story building marks the second phase of the expansive Eagle Loft complex, which has converted the former Eagle Electric factory into hundreds of luxury apartments. New Yorkers earning 130 percent of the area median income can apply for the units, priced at $2,750/month for studios and $3,475/month for one bedrooms.

Developed by Rockrose Development and designed by SLCE Architects, the building features 301 rental apartments and approximately 4,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space, as reported by The Real Deal.

Eagle Loft’s first phase, located at 43-22 Queens Street, incorporated the former Eagle Electric factory into a 54-story residential tower, which opened in 2022.

Amenities include a fitness center, library, rooftop pool with cabanas and BBQ grills, game room with billiards, rentable party room, spa, co-working lounge, outdoor garden, whiskey den, bowling alley, arcade, and a golf and multisport simulator.

The apartments are equipped with oversized windows, hardwood floors, in-unit washers and dryers, dishwashers, and microwaves, according to CityRealty.

Applicants can take advantage of the following deals: one month rent free upon signing a 24-month lease, 50 percent off security deposits, and a $1,000 moving bonus for initial leases.

Nearby public transit options include the G, E, M, R, N, W, and 7 subway, the Long Island Rail Road, and several local bus routes.

Rockrose purchased the lot and an adjacent property at 43-14 Queens Street for $13 million in November 2020. The site was previously home to a parking garage and an industrial building, as reported by Crain’s.

In 2024, Rockrose secured a $105 million construction loan for the building from Wells Fargo, according to BLDUP.

Qualifying New Yorkers can apply for the apartments until June 13, 2025. Complete details on how to apply are available here.
