Located at 232 Adelphi Street, the Abbey offers 12 unique residences that preserve the historic church’s grandeur, with soaring vaulted ceilings, stained glass windows, arched doorways, and original stonework sourced from nearby Fort Greene Park. Prices start at $1.195 million for one-bedroom units and go up to $4 million for a three-bedroom.

Gothic Revival church turned luxury rental apartment: only in New York. That's the story behind 232 Adelphi Street, a majestic Fort Greene church built in 1888. It fell into disrepair before being converted into 12 apartments in recent years. This is the last apartment left empty and it's a pricy one. It's also big: an 1,800-square-foot duplex with two bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths, all accessed via a private entrance.

When we first got a look inside the church conversion at 232 Adelphi Street we were blown away by the amount of original architecture retained from the structure's holy days, including stained glass windows, vaulted ceilings with exposed steel beams, arched doorways, reclaimed hardwood floors, and plenty of exposed brick. And now that listings have launched at the Fort Greene rental building, we have even more to ogle at. Formerly the Carlton Mews Church, the landmarked 1888 Gothic Revival Church was completely restored by RSVP Studio to feature 12 distinct apartments, including studios, one- and two-bedroom duplexes, and three-bedroom triplexes.
