An apartment in LeFrak Organization’s 41-story luxury tower, the Ellipse, just became the most expensive rental listing in Jersey City. According to The Real Deal, the unit is the biggest of the building’s five penthouses and features four bedrooms, four bathrooms and a terrace with city views. When LeFrak first launched leasing for the building at 25 Park Lane, the 2,300-square-foot pad was originally listed as $8,211 per month.

The glass and steel building, whose name derives from its unique elliptical shape, sits on the bank of the Hudson River in the Newport community of Jersey City. Designed by HLW and Arquitectonica, the building includes 381 units.

Apartments boast floor-to-ceiling windows and hardwood oak floors throughout. The kitchen is equipped with stainless steel dishwashers, oven ranges and large refrigerators. And every residence will include Manhattan skyline and water views.

Amenities at the Ellipse include a multi-purpose lounge, a state-of-the-art fitness center, huge outdoor pool deck and a game room. The deck comes with both an oversized swimming pool and a kiddie-sized one,  as well as cabanas, spots to barbecue and firepits.

With luxury rentals and new developments popping up along the Jersey City waterfront, offering city-like amenities but at Jersey prices, more New Yorkers might want to take the leap across the Hudson River. And it’s not just because most rentals are cheaper. In Jersey City, the apartments are more spacious, there is a sense of community and waterfront views are abundant.
