Annie Leibovitz has sold her Upper West Side co-op for nearly 24 percent over the asking price. The duplex, located in the star-studded Brentmore building at 88 Central Park West, fetched $10,625,000, roughly $2,000,000 more than what it listed for in October. But the sale was still a loss for Leibovitz, who paid about $11,250,000 for the home in 2014. The Brentmore is known for its high-profile residents, including Robert DeNiro, Paul Simon, and Sting. Kim Cooper, a general counsel at Apple, and Gregg Zehr, the creator of the Kindle, are listed as buyers of the residence, as Curbed first reported.

Leibovitz purchased the home in 2014 to be closer to her children’s school. But now, with her three daughters having left the nest, the home is “too big” for the photographer alone, according to the New York Times.

Leibovitz owns a full-floor condo at 495 West Street in the West Village which she purchased for $6,500,000 in 2022. She listed the property earlier this month for an asking price of $8,500,000. She once owned a three-townhouse property at the corner of Greenwich and West 11th Streets, which she sold for $28.5 million in 2014. Her 228-acre family home is located upstate in the town of Rhinebeck.

While she kept much of the unit’s pre-war details untouched, Leibovitz renovated a few parts of the apartment and added an office and library. The expansive apartment features 11-foot-tall ceilings, polished hardwood floors, decorative moldings found throughout the interior, and large windows allowing for picturesque views of Central Park.

Entry to the home is through a spacious gallery that leads to a sprawling 32-by-20-foot living room with plenty of seating space and enough room for a grand piano.

The home features a renovated eat-in kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances, custom cabinetry, and an adjacent butler’s pantry boasting a rare amount of prep and storage space for a Manhattan kitchen.

Also located on this floor is a separate home office, a staff room/bedroom with an en-suite bath, and a fully equipped laundry area.

The home’s private space is accessible via a curving staircase. The primary bedroom features a windowed bathroom, a walk-in closet, a second closet, and incredible Central Park views. Also situated on this level are two more bedrooms with closet space, and a second full bathroom.

Constructed in 1910 and designed by Schwartz & Gross, the 12-story full-service building offers an attended lobby with a concierge, doorman services, private storage space, a gym, and an emergency backup generator.
