In 1998, the same year she began her breakout role in Sex and the City, actress Kim Cattrall bought this East Hampton home for just $450,000, according to the New York Times, who first reported that it’s now been listed for $3,250,000. The shingled home is a lovely mix of casual beach house and contemporary design, and the property also has a detached studio. “I thought about selling the property after my divorce in 2004,” Cattrall told the Times, “but I just couldn’t — 22 years later, it’s time.”

The home sits on 0.4 acres and was built in 1988. For privacy, it’s tucked behind a gate and set against a fully landscaped bluestone pathway leading to Gardiner’s Bay.

The living and dining spaces in the main house are situated within an L-shaped portion of the home that’s highlighted by a double-height wall of bay-facing windows that provide three beautiful exposures–across to Gardiner’s Island, northwest to Shelter Island, and southeast to Montauk. Here, you’ll find a wood-burning fireplace and a 59″ X 80″ motorized screen that descends from the ceiling and is paired with a professional projector.

The living space opens onto the rear deck, which, like all the decks, is made of mahogany.

Adjacent to the dining room is a cozy den, where we can see Cattrall’s awards collection displayed.

The kitchen is at the front of the house, directly off the entrance. It has custom wood cabinetry and marble counters.

The studio is 318 square feet and is fully heated and cooled with a half bathroom.

Other perks include a new outdoor shower, a hot tub, a small shed, and a fire pit near the water.

Cattrall also owns an apartment on Park Avenue and has used her East Hampton home as a place to decompress and relax. According to the Times, a home she bought in 2014 in her hometown of Vancouver Island in British Columbia will now serve that purpose.
