Cyndi Lauper lists French Country Connecticut home where she wrote ‘Kinky Boots’ for $1.25M

“True Colors” singer-songwriter Cyndi Lauper is selling her Stamford, Connecticut home for $1.25 million. With three beds and three baths, the home at 250 Saddle Hill Road sits 45 miles outside of Manhattan and measures about 3,900 square feet on 1.58 acres of property. Lauper, who first purchased the home during the 1980s, has written several albums and much of the Broadway musical “Kinky Boots” in its guest house. As the Wall Street Journal reported, the home was renovated with French Country-style touches, seen in the hand-stenciled floral designs and French antique salon doors and bathroom fixtures.

Nestled in the rural part of Stamford, Connecticut, this French Country Colonial provides a private and peaceful getaway from Manhattan. The home was built by 9 West Co-Founder, Vince Camuto, and interiors were designed by Howard Kaplan. Unique fixtures, such as the doors and tiles, were sourced from England and France.

Hand-stenciled floral designs can be found on the walls and ceilings. There are also four etched glass doors from Paris and many of the salon doors and bathroom fixtures are 19th-century French antiques.

Lauper used the property’s separate guesthouse for songwriting and features a kitchen, full bathroom and stone fireplace. Outside, there is stonework and an inground swimming pool. According to the WSJ, Lauper and her husband David Thorton, are selling their home to spend more time at their Manhattan rental on the Upper West Side.
