Rent Designer Erin Fetherston’s Fashionably Furnished Tribeca Loft for $23K/Month

July 15, 2016

A recent Observer article describing designer Erin Fetherston‘s Tribeca loft uses adjectives like “dreamy,” “delicate,” and “airy,”  all of which also describe the ethereal apparel collections she has designed both under her own label and in collaboration with big names like Target and Cosabella. It’s fitting that this apartment, with its pale hues and spun-sugar decor, is located in Tribeca’s Sugar Warehouse condominium building at 79 Laight Street.

Ms. Fetherston has owned the unit since 2007, when she paid $4.33 million for the loft. She has been living with her husband and new baby in Los Angeles, so it’s up to another fashionable New Yorker to enjoy the 3,555-square-foot home, furnished with “rare antiques” and “stylish furniture,” including couches from ABC Home and Bergère-style chairs. The three-bedroom loft has graced the pages of Vogue (also featured here on the designer’s blog); it’s now seeking a new tenant, asking $22,995 a month.

79 Laight Street Living Room 2

The three-bedroom loft in newly-developing (but long sought-after) western Tribeca has great bones courtesy of its former warehouse life, with double-height ceilings and huge loft windows. After entering via private keyed elevator, a corner great room is the main living, dining and entertaining space, offering views of the nearby Hudson River–and a wood-burning fireplace within.

79 Laight Street Kitchen

An open chef’s kitchen features state-of-the-art appliances, custom cabinetry and plenty of space.

The bedrooms are pale confections of comfort and luxury, perfect for a sugar factory. The smaller of them is a pale rose with gold accents, and the master is both clean-lined and romantic (“It’s romantic and chic, but clean and modern.” the designer tells Vogue) in cream and smoky teal, lit by a double-height window.

79 Laight Street Mezzanine

Fetherston’s mezzanine office is both clean and comfortable, framed by white walls and a filigreed iron railing. There are plenty of chairs for pondering and inspiration and lots of workspace to create your own atelier.

The Sugar Warehouse is both a landmarked, pre-war loft building and a full-service condominium, which is not the most common combination. Amenities include a 24-hour concierge, a fitness room, a rooftop lounge, a children’s playroom, bicycle storage and a live-in super.
