According to the New York Daily News, Beyonce was spotted apartment hunting this week, without hubby Jay Z, for what some are speculating could be her new bachelorette pad. The luxurious home that seems to have caught Bey’s eye is this incredible 4,054-square-foot square penthouse located at 520 West 19th Street, which comes with not only a 20-foot dining room and libraries, but a stunning 642-square-foot private terrace that runs the full length of the apartment and looks out to a dazzling array of city sights—a birds-eye view of the Empire State Building among them.
Completely renovated from head (9’2”ceilings) to toe (charcoal granite and teak floors), this large, light-bathed 5BR/5.5BA duplex penthouse was made for entertaining as well as city gazing.
The home features an elegant foyer that opens up to an expansive 20’ dining room and adjacent 27’ living room, separated by a huge double sided white statuary marble fireplace.
An equally gorgeous adjoining library features a rolling ladder to ensure that every volume in the custom-built shelving is easily accessible. And the floor-to-ceiling windows will make this the perfect place for Beyonce and daughter Blue Ivy to spend a leisurely Sunday morning reading the paper or just enjoying the city views.
Nearly every inch of this home is splashed with light, including the south and west facing chef’s kitchen and attached breakfast area overlooking the Hudson. The kitchen is also filled with everything needed to host a killer party: white Cararra marble, Arclinea Italian cabinetry, Boffi fixtures, premium appliances including a Viking range with a vented hood, Sub-Zero refrigerator, Miele dishwasher, wine refrigerator, and hot/cold water on demand.
But let’s get to that closet. The sprawling master bedroom retreat features its own spectacular views, an opulent master bath with ribbed marble walls, Boffi fixtures, and a massive teak closet that’s easily as big as the average New York apartment. Huge? Yes. But we doubt Beyonce will have any trouble filling it up with her extensive wardrobe.
Currently, Town Residential’s Adam Taylor and Wilbur Gonzalez hold the listing for the $21.5 million beauty situated on one of Chelsea’s finest blocks. If Ms. Knowles does decide to move into this sprawling home, she’ll have all of West Chelsea’s best attractions, such as Highline Park, Hudson River Park, Chelsea Piers, Chelsea Market, the Meatpacking District, future Whitney Museum, and excellent shopping and dining, right at her fingertips. Not too shabby.
