The Prynt Case Turns Your Phone into a Polaroid Camera

November 24, 2014

Move over Instagram, this new technology is going back to the photo fad that started it all–Polaroid. A French startup company has spent the past year developing the Prynt Case, which can instantly turn a cell phone into a Polaroid instant camera. The case can even print the vintage-looking photos on the spot.

The company behind the project began building the case in early 2014 by sourcing parts and developing prototypes. The current model can only hold one sheet of paper at a time and takes a minute to print a photo, but when the product hits the market it’s expected to hold 10-30 sheets of paper at a time and print in less than 30 seconds.

Naturally, the case works with an accompanying camera app that is used to snap photos. The app also records a video when it takes a photo, and when the printed photo is held in front of the camera the video plays in the app. The case is expected to be available through Kickstarter next year, and an early model should cost about $99.
