Weekend 2, 3 subway service between Brooklyn and Manhattan resumes Sunday

The regular slew of service changes awaits straphangers this weekend, but one longtime inconvenience will be coming to an end this Sunday: weekend 2 and 3 service between Brooklyn and Manhattan will resume at last. For 4 and G train riders, though, the weekend will be a particularly inconvenient one.

No 1 trains between 137 Street and 242 Street – free shuttle buses provide alternate service operating along four routes.

2 trains replace weekend 5 service between Dyre Avenue and E 180 Street. No 2 or 3 train service between Brooklyn and Manhattan – no trains stop at Park Place, Wall St, Clark St and Hoyt St.

Manhattan-bound 4 trains run express from Burnside Av to 149 St-Grand Concourse. Downtown 4 trains skip 116, 110, 103, 96, 77, 68 and 51 Sts in Manhattan. No 4 trains between Utica Av and New Lots Av – free shuttle buses provide alternate service.

5 trains replace weekend 2 service between Wakefield-241 St and E 180 St.

6 trains skip 116, 110, 103, 96, 77, 68 and 51 Sts. Brooklyn Bridge-bound 6 trains run express from Parkchester to 3 Av-138 St – trains stop at Hunts Point Av.

Hudson Yards-bound 7 trains skip 111, 103, 90 and 82 St in Queens.

E trains run via the F in both directions between W 4 St and 21 St-Queensbridge – free shuttle bus service between Court Sq-23 St and 21 St-Queensbridge, stopping at Queens Plaza.

Coney Island-bound D trains skip Union St, 4 Av-9 St, Prospect Av and 25 St. D trains run via the N in both directions between 36 St and Stillwell Av – free shuttle buses provide alternate service. Coney Island-bound D trains skip 155 St. Norwood-bound D trains skip 170 St, 174-175 Sts and 182-183 Sts.

Middle Village-bound M trains skip Hewes St, Lorimer St and Flushing Av.

Coney Island-bound N trains run express from Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr to 59 St in Brooklyn, stopping at 36 St.

Bay Ridge-bound R trains run express from Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr to 59 St in Brooklyn, stopping at 36 St.

Jamaica Center-bound J trains skip Hewes St, Lorimer St and Flushing Av.

No G trains between Hoyt-Schermerhorn and Church Av in Brooklyn. Service operates between Court Sq and Bedford-Nostrand Avs and between Bedford-Nostrand Avs and Hoyt-Schermerhorn, every 20 minutes.

Per the whims of the MTA, there will probably be other problems, and the problems stated above are subject to change and worsen.
