Lottery opens for 84 affordable units in the Bronx neighborhood of Williamsbridge, from $681/month

A housing lottery opened this week for 84 affordable units at a new rental in the Bronx. Located on East 211th and East 212th Streets between White Plains Road and Holland Avenue, Williamsbridge Gardens offers its residents a wide variety of amenities and services for low-income and formerly homeless households. New Yorkers earning 40, 50, 60, 70, and 80 percent of the area median income, or between $26,229 for a single person and $132,400 for a household of seven, are eligible to apply for the apartments, which range from $681/month one-bedrooms to $2,273/month three-bedrooms.

Apply for 35 affordable studios at former Bronx army reserve center for $892/month

Applications are now being accepted for 35 studios set aside for low-income New Yorkers. Located at 555 Nereid Avenue in Wakefield, the building sits on the site of the former Joseph A. Muller Army Reserve Center. The newly redesigned four-story site, dubbed the Muller Residences, now contains roughly 90 units, with 54 apartments set aside for formerly homeless veterans and 35 for those earning 60 percent of the area median income, which are available through this current housing lottery. Applicants must earn between $30,583 annually for a one-person household and $57,000 annually for a two-person household to qualify for the $892/month studio apartments.

First two rentals open at huge South Bronx housing complex La Central

The first two rentals at the five-building South Bronx complex La Central officially opened on Wednesday. The mixed-use towers, located at 556 and 600 Bergen Street in the borough's Melrose neighborhood, contain 500 units of housing, a new YMCA, studio space for BronxNet, and a rooftop farm operated by GrowNYC.

A housing lottery launched on Monday for 494 affordable apartments at a sprawling development in the South Bronx. Two buildings of the five-building complex La Central are now accepting applications for the units, which range from $395/month studios to $2,689/month four-bedrooms. The rentals, located at 556 and 600 Bergen Avenue, contain a 50,000-square-foot YMCA, GrowNYC-operated rooftop gardens, and ground-floor retail. New Yorkers earning 30, 40, 50, 60, and 130 percent of the area median income can apply for the apartments.

Applications are currently being accepted for middle-income units at the Tapestry in East Harlem. Located at 245 East 124th Street, the 12-story, 185-unit rental building sits near the base of the Triborough Bridge. It was built in 2010 to the designs of Pei Cobb Freed & Partners and MHG Architects and features amenities like a concierge, garage, spacious green roofs and landscaped terraces, bike storage, fitness center, and a media and entertainment lounge.
