The Upper East Side townhouse where passionate art collector and tastemaker Barbara Jakobson lived for six decades has listed for $8,995,000. A native New Yorker who was a longtime trustee of the Museum of Modern Art, Jakobson bought the five-story home at 167 East 74th Street in 1966 and lived there until her death at age 92 last summer. The Lenox Hill property first hit the market in April for $9,800,000, following an auction of many of Jakobson's beloved artworks.

Former Morgan Stanley CEO lists UES townhouse for $80M
A home on the Upper East Side hit the market last week for $80 million, which would become the priciest residential townhouse sold in New York City if it fetches the asking price. As first reported by the Wall Street Journal, the palatial home at 165 East 70th Street belongs to former Morgan Stanley chair and CEO John Mack and his wife Christy, who paid $13.5 million for the property in 2009. Formerly a carriage house, the landmarked limestone townhouse measures an impressive 33 feet wide and contains nearly 16,000 square feet across six floors.

A renovated Clinton Hill townhouse has sold for $9.4 million in an off-market deal, setting a new neighborhood record. As first reported by Curbed, the 25-foot-wide residence at 374 Washington Avenue measures more than 7,000 square feet and includes five bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom and walk-in closet. The sale just tops the previous record at 280 Washington Avenue, known as the Pfizer Mansion, which sold for $9.05 million in 2021.

Brooklyn Heights townhouse sells for $24.5M, the borough’s priciest sale of 2026
A Brooklyn Heights townhouse sold for $24.5 million in an off-market deal, marking the borough's most expensive residential deal of the year. The 6,625-square-foot brownstone at 192 Columbia Heights surpassed this year's record, a penthouse in Dumbo that sold for $16.3 million in March. The transaction ranks as the borough's third-most expensive residential sale ever, according to the New York Times. Just two Brooklyn properties have ever fetched higher prices: a 10,000-square-foot mansion in Gravesend that sold for $32 million in 2025 and a four-story home in Brooklyn Heights that sold for $25.5 million in 2021.

Pink bought a yellow Greenwich Village townhouse. The pop star paid $21.5 million for the historic six-story home at 125 West 11th Street, as the Wall Street Journal first reported. Built in 1849, the cheerfully painted Greek Revival mansion has served as a haven for artists for over a century, most recently the same family for 70 years. Following a three-year renovation, the roughly 7,900-square-foot home first hit the market for $25 million in 2024 before being reduced by $3.5 million last fall.
