Seagram liquor heir Eli Bronfman will be collecting $120,000 a month for his penthouse pad at 20 Greene Street while searching for a buyer, according to The Real Deal. The massive loft occupies the top three floors of the classic cast-iron building, topped by a dazzling rooftop terrace. Bronfman put the four-bedroom condo on the market last year for $45 million. Its current ask is $35,950,000, but its six-figure rental price may make it hard to part with–and may be Soho’s highest ever.

Bronfman purchased the condo in 2022 for $35.6 million. The rental deal puts the home in the rarified realm occupied by a West Chelsea apartment recently rented for $177,500 a month by Howard Hughes CEO David Weinreb.
Marc Riedel of the Beyond Team at Serhant represented Bronfman, and Laura Klein of Bespoke represented the tenant.
“Penthouse apartments of this caliber are virtually never available for lease,” Riedel said. “This underscores the continued dominance of trophy assets like 20 Greene St. PH setting a new SoHo record, where six-figure rents are now the new norm.”

Spanning 6,814 square feet of indoor living space with a 2,841-square-foot roof terrace, this downtown home is definitely a trophy property. Interiors have been recently outfitted with matte plaster walls, wide-plank oak floors, integrated smart home systems and wellness features, and custom furnishings for effortless luxury.

Arrive on the fifth floor via private keyed elevator. On this level, you’ll find an equally private retreat starting with a library topped by 10-foot ceilings. Also on this floor are a meditation room, a laundry room, a home office, bedrooms with en-suite baths, and plenty of flexible space.

The sixth floor is made for hosting, with a renovated kitchen with Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances framed by bespoke cabinetry. Beneath 12-foot ceilings, expansive living areas open to a formal dining space, all anchored by a wood-burning fireplace.

The seventh floor is secluded for private living. A suitably luxurious primary suite has its own patio and Zen garden with indoor and outdoor fireplaces. The attendant bathroom offers a Japanese soaking tub and a separate steam shower.

High above Soho, the rooftop terrace is surrounded by 360-degree city views. This outdoor wonderland is furnished with a sauna, a fully-equipped outdoor kitchen, a pergola and several seating zones.
