Jackson Pollock’s former Greenwich Village loft returns to market for $1.99M

The Greenwich Village loft where Jackson Pollock once lived has returned to the market for the first time in a decade, asking $1,990,000. Located on the top floor of 46 Carmine Street, the historic 1827 Federal-style townhouse was home to Pollock and his brother Charles in 1932, serving as both their living space and studio. Bought off-market in 2021 by current owner Fergus Hurley, the 650-square-foot residence has since been modernized while retaining its historic character. Hurley has also filled the space with a new collection of artwork that draws on the artistic legacy of the home.

The Met to host first show dedicated to Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner

The largest exhibition celebrating abstract expressionist artists and life partners Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner in two decades will open at the Metropolitan Museum of Art this fall. On view from October 4 through January 31, 2027, "Krasner and Pollock: Past Continuous" traces the full arc of both artists' careers, highlights their impact on modern art, and introduces their work to a new generation. The exhibition—the first at the Met to feature both artists—will display over 120 works borrowed from more than 80 U.S. and international lenders.

Steven Holl’s ‘Writing With Light House’ Plays with the Light That Filters through Its Wooden Skin

American architect and watercolorist Steven Holl was inspired by Jackson Pollock's 1949 'Seven in Eight' paintings when designing this stunning property. Called the 'Writing With Light House', it stands near the former abstract expressionist painter's studio on Long Island and features wide-open interiors brightened with natural light. Boasting a striking linear wooden skin that lets the elements filter through, the power of this design can be best appreciated when the light lines inside play with the spaces throughout the day.

Jackson Pollock’s Former Greenwich Village Apartment Hits the Market for $1.25M

You won't find any paint-splattered masterpieces here, but you will get the exclusive bragging rights of saying you live in the former home of Jackson Pollock at 46 Carmine Street. And if that wasn't enough of a conversation starter, the Greenwich Village building was once owned by Aaron Burr. Million Dollar Listing New York star Luis D. Ortiz announced the $1.25 million listing via Instagram, which is not surprising considering how photogenic this one-bedroom, top-floor unit is. The 800-square-foot home boats 14-foot, Tudor-style beamed ceilings with skylights; exposed whitewashed brick walls; and a cozy fireplace.
