Manhattan living doesn’t always mean giving up indoor and outdoor space. Asking $5,895,000, this sunny, sprawling full-floor Chelsea condo at 532 West 20th Street is a 2,703-square-foot, three-bedroom home. On a high floor in a modern 11-story building, warm wood accents and high ceilings frame Scandi-style interiors, accessed by a private keyed elevator, and a south-facing terrace is perfect for skyline-gazing and big enough for outdoor dining. And about that dining: Husband/wife culinary team Will Guidara and Christina Tosi are the home’s current owners. He’s the former owner of Eleven Madison Park and NOMAD and she founded Milk Bar and hosts “Bake Squad” on Netflix among other accomplishments, so you can bet the kitchen won’t disappoint.
Guidara and Tosi have authored best-selling culinary books and they’ve appeared together on Hulu’s “The Bear,” (which Guidara co-produces). This apartment has also been the backdrop for Tosi’s “Bake Club” episodes.
The couple’s former home was also in Chelsea, a top-floor two-bedroom at 139 West 19th Street. They sold the penthouse for $4.4 million in late 2022.
In addition to privacy, space, light, and views, the sophisticated city flat has a wealth of 21st-century comforts. High-end additions include a full-sized, vented washer and dryer, zoned climate control, wood-clad German-made windows for extra quiet and privacy, and plenty of custom closet space.
The keyed elevator opens to a large foyer. Tall ceilings, floor-to-ceiling glass, and whitewashed oak floors frame a dramatic 50-foot great room. A gas fireplace provides warmth, and southern light fills the room during the day. Step onto the terrace for gardening, entertaining, or gazing at the cityscape.
This star power is evident in the state-of-the-art kitchen, accented with custom wood cabinetry and served by a walk-in pantry. Honed Volakas marble countertops frame a hard-working suite of chef-ready appliances from Miele and SubZero, including a vented gas range, a convection oven, a speed oven, and an under-counter wine refrigerator.
Across the home, three bedrooms are each their own private sanctuary. The master suite features a dressing room big enough to be used as an office (and a second custom closet). The marble-clad primary bath has a custom walnut vanity accented in polished chrome, a free-standing soaking tub, and a Toto dual-flush water closet.
The remaining two bedrooms have en-suite baths with crisp, clean surfaces and luxurious accents. Highlights include an undermount Duravit tub and Fantini shower with thermostatic controls in polished chrome.
The nine-unit full-service condominium is just a half-block from the High Line and Hudson River Park. At the top of the amenity list is a private, residents-only garage with a deeded parking space. Additional perks include a full-time doorman, storage, and bike storage.
