L trains running every 30 minutes, and more weekend subway service changes

January 19, 2018

The MTA can’t even get its service change updates right: As of 4:50pm, The Weekender is showing duplicates for many track maintenance notifications, as if to repeatedly subject straphangers to service changes in writing. Easily the cherry on the cake of weekend transit hell, however, is that tomorrow, from 7am to 7pm, the L train will be running “approximately every 24 minutes between Broadway Junction and Rockaway Pkwy.” Oof, allow for some serious extra time. Many trains will also be running local.

There will be no 2 trains between E 180 St and Dyre Av. Free shuttle buses provide alternate service. Wakefield-bound 2 trains run express from 3 Av-149 St to E 180 St from Saturday morning to 8pm Sunday – there will also be no 5 service at these stations during this time.

Until the summer, 2 and 3 trains will not be running between Brooklyn and Manhattan.

There will be no 5 trains between 241 St and Grand Central-42 St.

Woodlawn-bound 4 trains will skip 138 St-Grand Concourse. 4 trains will operate in two sections – between Woodlawn and 125 St and between 125 St and New Lots Av; transfer at 125 St to continue your trip.

Hudson Yards-bound 7 trains will skip 69, 52, 40 and 33 Sts from early Saturday morning to Sunday night.

Inwood-bound A trains will run express from Canal St to 168 St.

No C trains between 145 St and 168 St (the A will be running local and provide alternate service). Uptown C trains run express from Canal St to 145 St.

No L trains between Myrtle-Wyckoff Ave and Rockaway Pkway. Free shuttle buses provide alternate service. L trains will run approximately every 24 minutes between Broadway Junction and Rockaway Pkwy on Saturday from 7am to 7pm.

145 St-bound B trains will skip 72, 81, 86, 96, 103, 110, 116 and 135 Sts tonight.

Norwood-bound D trains will skip 25 St, Prospect Av, 4 Av-9 St, Union St and DeKalb Av.

Jamaica-bound F trains skip 14 St and 23 St.

M train service will end early between 71 Av and Essex St. There will be no M trains between Essex St and Broadway Junctions or between Myrtle-Wyckoff Av and Myrtle Av. Shuttle trains will provide alternate service between Metropolitan Av and Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs.

Astoria-bound N trains will skip 39 Av and Broadway and run express from 59 St, Brooklyn to Canal St via the Manhattan Bridge.

96 St-bound Q trains will run via the R from DeKalb Av to Canal St.

Forest Hills-bound R trains will run express from 59 St, Brooklyn to Canal St via the Manhattan Bridge. R trains will not provide service to Whitehall St and 59 St, Brooklyn.

Astoria-bound W trains will skip 39 Av and Broadway.

Broad St-bound J trains skip Flushing Av, Lorimer St and Hewes St.

Per the whims of the MTA, there will probably be other problems, and the problems stated above are subject to change and worsen.
