Kate Moss and Johnny Depp’s former Greenwich Village apartment asks $15.5M

A Greenwich Village townhouse with a carriage house that Kate Moss and Johnny Depp called home during the 1990s is for sale. The nearly 200-year-old Federal-style brick townhouse at 112 Waverly Place is currently configured as four rentals, each with private outdoor space and wood-burning fireplaces. The 90s power couple lived in the quirky complex’s 1,800-square-foot carriage house from 1994 to 1998. The entire property is now available for $15,500,000, as first spotted by the New York Post.

Built in 1826, the townhouse was reimagined in the early 1900s with a brick facade. The home spans 22 feet wide and measures 6,300 square feet, with an additional 1,200 square feet of outdoor space.

The property’s crown jewel is the carriage house, which measures 1,800 square feet across three floors. The space has a dramatic skylight and soaring 17-foot beamed ceilings, all accentuated by charming brick. Other unique elements include the copper ceiling in the kitchen and the amazing wood-burning fireplace.

The outdoor patio is the perfect urban oasis, overlooking the yard below.

The garden level is a duplex with oversized windows, a fireplace, and a bedroom that faces the private terrace. The second-floor unit contains two bedrooms, a full kitchen, a full bath, and a generous living space. And the penthouse unit takes up the top two floors and includes a well-maintained rooftop with Empire State Building views.

Not only was the property a “love nest” for Depp and Moss, but it was also once owned by Lorraine Hansberry, author of “Raisin in the Sun” and the first black woman to have a play produced on Broadway.

The carriage house was last rented for $16,000/month in 2021. The townhouse last sold in 2016 for just under $14,000,000.

Situated on the tree-lined Waverly Place, the townhouse is less than a block from Washington Square Park.
