An oceanfront Hamptons estate once owned by a diamond magnate has hit the market for $45 million. As first reported by the New York Post, the home at 15 Dune Road in Bridgehampton was built by the late Ara Arslanian, a Belgian-American diamond dealer who bought the property in the early 1980s and died in November. Designed by Mark C. Matthews Architecture and Francis D’Haene of D’Apostrophe Design, the seven-bedroom residence features a linear shoreline layout, with every principal room offering sweeping sunrise and sunset views over the water.

Sitting on 1.91 acres overlooking Mecox Bay, the property is among the first Hamptons waterfront homes to hit the market this year. The residence had previously been listed as a rental, asking $990,000 for four weeks, or $495,000 for two weeks, according to the Post.

Measuring just over 7,000 square feet across three floors, the modern home features an open, sunlit layout with seven full bathrooms, two half-bathrooms, and a spacious chef’s kitchen. It also includes two fireplaces, a gym, a home office, and a media room.

Elevated materials, meticulously detailed millwork, and a thoughtful color palette lend a sense of intention to the home’s design, which is carefully balanced to complement its picturesque oceanfront surroundings.

The home’s grand main room combines living, dining, and kitchen spaces with a fireplace, while large glass walls provide seamless access to the outdoor amenities and the beachfront just steps away.

At the rear, a deck with an outdoor shower, lounge area, and a heated gunite saltwater pool lead to a private path down to the beach.

Friends of Arslanian say the residence was his passion project. He reportedly spent nearly a decade building the home, which was designed for indoor and outdoor entertaining while maximizing ocean views.

The home also showcased his extensive art collection, which included original works by Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Jeff Koons, and Julian Schnabel, all protected by Arcadia glass, UV-protected windows, and premium glazing.

Kyle Rosko, one of the listing agents, told the Post that he met Arslanian on the beach and the two became friends, adding that you can feel his love “in the house.”

“Creating and building this home was his opus,” Rosko said. “We started talking after meeting on the beach and we became friends. He was an incredible human and he was friendly with some incredible people in his lifetime. He was surrounded by a lot of love—you can feel it in the house.”

Rosko added that the house was designed to “capture the light,” with sunsets over the water “pouring into the living room.” Arslanian also incorporated specially angled walls in the bedroom to provide views of both the ocean and Mecox Bay.

The home features a three-story glass elevator overlooking the dunes and out to the ocean. It is turnkey-ready, allowing a prospective buyer to move in just in time for the summer season.

Rosko said the home also includes “nuanced collective art pieces” and “custom-made furniture,” some of which may be available for purchase.

“I am certain people will be interested the attention to detail and the playfulness and the love—everything captures the ocean, and you can watch the waves crash on the shore from five of the bedrooms. It is amazing,” Rosko added.
